Centurions And Raiders Compete For Bounce Back Win In Union

Records: CAL (3-1) | Ryle (2-2)

BGP Rankings: CAL (#1 in 3A) | Ryle (#9 in 6A)

Week 4 Results: CAL lost to LCA 12-14 | Ryle lost to Highlands 20-52

Series History: First ever meeting

QB Spotlight: You can be reasonably certain a Verax will lead Ryle onto the field. The question is, which one? Senior and three year starter Logan exited the loss to Highlands with an injury and was relieved by younger brother Nathan, a sophomore. With a top ranked team rolling into town, you want your veteran leader taking the snaps, but the younger Verax had his moments against the Bluebirds. As for who directs CAL's offensive symphony, the crystal ball is much more clear. Mr. Football candidate Cole Hodge is putting together another stellar season. Though the Centurions fell to LCA last week, Hodge outperformed Cutter Boley. Few players in the state command the field as he does. He seldom makes the wrong read and delivers the ball with authority and precision. And when called upon, his legs are a game changing weapon. The holes Highlands punched in the Ryle defense need to be patched before Hodge hits the turf in Union.

Great preview!  If you can't make it to Union, this is the (859) Sports Radio game of the week.  Logan Verax is a tough kid, if anyone can get ready to play it's him.

I'll go with CAL by 14.

34 to 6 CAL

Bump.

The Raiders could pull an upset by the narrowest of margins. If the game is not close, it’s a fun bus ride to the Ville. I have no idea which Verax will be at QB since Logan was injured last week. I’m looking forward to seeing another D1 QB in action. I want the Raiders to play their tails off for 48 minutes. It will be a perfect night for football in NKY! Safe travels to CAL.

Unless something technical happens (and if it does I will post a new link) this is the direct link to watch CAL/Ryle for free from @859Radio

25 to 5 CAL in the poll.

Broadcast link indicates 7:00 start but KHSAA scoreboard shows 7:30. We shall find out. I plan to arrive about 7:15

CAL broadcast crew traveled as well and is providing video: https://livesportscaster.com/video/9791/khsaa-football-cal-at-ryle-cal-sports-network/

Excellent opening drive and terrific third down over the shoulder pitch and catch from Logan Verax to Grady Reynolds

TD Raiders and botched snap n extra point. Beautiful recovery and pass from holder Landon Lorms to Dillon Smith. 8-0 Raiders

Raiders look ready to play after last week’s debacle. Three and out on CAL’s first series with a sack of Hodge on 3rd and long

Great field position to start the Raiders second drive at midfield

Fumble by Hays after third down completion. Would have been fourth and short. CAL takes over at Ryle 31.
