Worst loss I've seen since the last time we played at Cleveland. For whatever reason, that team just has our number.

Ugly! I thought defense played well overall, but had to be on the field all game because of how bad the offense was. Burrow was bad, receivers weren’t getting open, o line sucked, and play calling did nothing to help either. As the Browns were all over every play call. 
 

I will say now that I do think Zac Taylor and the coaches is and always have been more of a need to see  and have plenty of film on a team. Rather than a team that knows how to attack when going against the unknown. When they go against the unknown, they always seem have more issues and play much more conservative. Which is also why they seem to play better in the second half of the season and playoffs. Which is great that they know how to adjust once they have plenty of film on teams, just really hurts early in seasons. 
 

Meaning the Bengals when they have plenty of film on teams, do a great job with knowing what they want to do and how to attack. However, when they play teams that they don’t have much film on they struggle. With the Browns having a new DC, they didn’t really know what the new DC would do on defense. The Bengals seemed lost all day against them.

Secretly I agreed with you. 

I hardly ever pick against the Bengals but had that gut feeling all week and chose the Brownies to win. Perfect storm situation and rain on top of it. Plenty of gut to feel with - lol. Joe B will not play two bad games in a row. No time to feel sorry with the Ravens flying into the Jungle next week. All is well even though it doesn’t seem like it right now.

That was ugly, worst than I’ve seen them look on offense in a while. 
 

On a side note, my avatar started Joe Cool on her fantasy team this weekend. She’s not happy.  Our assurances that she should trust the process are not going over well right now.

Many of us felt the same. 

The Bengals looked absolutely horrible offensively. This could easily go back to the Klinger years in terms of how bad the offense was. I think all the SB talk can take a serious chill pill after today.

Burrow didn’t look good but I also don’t know if he was ready to be back today.

Bengals started off 0 and 2 last year and Burrow threw 4 interceptions in the first half of game one last year. So as bad as they looked today, it still is just one game and only the first game of the year. Zero reason for the Super Bowl not to be the expectation still. 

The Browns at the end of the day just seem to be a bad matchup for the Bengals anytime they play. 

Burrow was afraid to get full out on that calf with the combination of the Browns defense, the weather and the soft tissue injury.  I think he was thinking of the perspective of the entire season.

Not making excuses for him but 1 of the big knocks on Burrow coming out was small hands and in weather like today you really need big hands to control the ball, so many of his throws today looked like shot puts, he even tried wearing a glove which he said last year he NEVER does, I just think that got in his head, Cleveland played great defensively and it snowballed from there, hat tip to them, pay back time when they come to Paycor, until then get ready for Baltimore, we’ll play much better next week, lol, we just about have to!!
