  1. You are right about exchanging films but you don't get the game that is being played that night. I observed the individual only taking pictures when the special teams were on the field. Punt, punt return, kickoff and extra points.
  2. I would keep the starters in until the last few minutes of the game. These kids are the ones who have worked hard for the last three years and deserve to play the majority of the game.
  3. I was at the HHS/SO game tonight and a scout from another team sat a couple of rows down from me. I know he was a scout because he was taking notes and also taking digital pictures during certain times of the game. My question to those in the know is it common practice to take digital pictures? Also, on a side note South Oldham was playing with a Wilson 1001 football. I thought schools had to use a Rawlings.
  4. Nell doesn't have to recruit but isn't it considered recruiting if anyone associated with that school ask you to consider sending your child to that school. Just asking... Sounds as if your daughter has her priorities strait and will make a great coach if she chooses to go into the profession. Good luck on the upcoming season.
  5. I thought HHS should have huddled at the end and either made CCH take a timeout or snap the ball with around 40 seconds on the game clock. If you don't score you take your first TO with about 20 Sec. left in the game. Worst case is CCH is made to take it's TO's. HHS gave them at least an extra 15-17 sec's by not using more of the play clock.
  6. CCH stonewalled the birds rush all night. The only time they get a decent rush is when they rushed only two and the QB scrambles and hits the WR down the sideline for a 35 yards. TV had a great replay and the QB did a great job of leading the WR.
  7. Great game. Great plays made by both teams. I thought Highlands should have eaten more clock up when they had first and goal from inside the three. They had all three timeouts left and only used 10 seconds from when the 25 second clock was set on first down. Eaisly could have burned another 15 seconds off or at least make CovCath use one or both of their timeouts.
  8. I don't know how they do it in Louisville but in NKY all Frosh teams play in two different leagues. One for A/AA and the other AAA/AAAA. If they play outside the conference then you have to put together a nine team schedule every year and that would be difficult. It's also financially responsible to play teams where you don't have to travel 2 hours to play a frosh game. I'm no expert on Ohio frosh football but I'm sure they also have league games that they must play. Beating X and Elder at the varsity level would be great but that's not the ultimate goal at Highlands. Their goal is to win the AAA championship every year and what they are doing at the frosh level has contributed to that every year. JMO
  9. Any word on if Behrens is eligible and practicing at Boone yet?
  10. I had heard that they were ruled ineligible and appealed the verdict and the officer of the KHSAA ruled them eligible. It now goes back to the board if memory is correct. I guess if you move from ryle to boone like Dailey did or Ludlow to Florence that is ok but moving from Hebron to Ft. Thomas isn't. Make's a lot of sense doesn't it.. And they are living in Ft. Thomas and all childern are attending school in Ft. Thomas. I believe they have purchased a house.
  11. I can't think of any prior to this year that transfered in AFTER their freshman year to Highlands. I know of two from Conner this year, who is the third that is not a freshman?
  12. I think it should be public like the sweet sixteen is BUT I have no problems with this draw. Bob S. from NCC is on the board and I don't believe he would be part of something that wasn't done right and something that would intentionally/potentially harm the private schools.
  13. Highlands Scott Draud scoring 69 points against Holmes at Holmes. Someone later said that if there would have been a three point line he would have had 17 three's. Greatest single game performance I ever witnessed.
  14. One girl who doesn't get the "credit" she deserves is the lone senior in the starting lineup, Ashley Griffith. She shut down Lantry and always seems to hit big shots in games. She might not score a ton of points but the games I have watched she will drill a couple of three's to stop another team's run.
  15. Please give names of players that have transfered into Highlands. Stephenopolis, came from Bellevue as 7th or 8th grader, is the only girl I can think of that did not come from the district or one of the local parochial schools. I can't think of a player who has transfered from a local school or for that matter from any school after there freshman year.
  16. I think over the last 4 weeks you would have seen a diferent Sneed playing then the one you described. When you play 32 minutes, bring the ball up against any press, guard the best perimeter player on the other team, and be counted on to score at least 20 points per game you are going to take off some plays. I have watched her get her teammates more involved and be a coach on the floor. She's enourgaging her teammates after they make mistakes instead of getting discouraged herself. If the player I have watched the last couple of weeks continues this throughout the summer and into next season she will be dominate girls basketball next year.
  17. Based on your comment do you think they are going to sanction a student who goes from St. Catherine's to HMS in the 6th grade? If so, you are correct and this might be the end of St.Catherine's. Decreased enrollement of that nature will hurt them big time. I know of at least one student who will be going to the public schools next year. What a shame!!
  18. From St. Catherine's, about 45 percent go to HHS, another 45 percent to NCC the other 10 to other schools. The entire 5th grade class is usually around 25-30. Most children who go to HHS will leave and go to HMS in the 6th grade. Not many from St. Thomas and very few from St. Therese IMO.
  19. Can' t blame the officials on this loss. 6 for 18 from the foul line in the fourth quarter isn't the officals fault.
  20. Upset specials in the 9th region tonight. Looks like it's wide open this year.
  21. Thanks. You wouldn't happen to know those schools would you?
  22. Who decides the feeder schools? In Cambell Co. you have students that attend NCC that come from St.Joe's, St. Terresa, St. Thomas, St. Catherine and a few others. Brossart I'm sure draws from St. Joe's. Villa draws from these schools also. Are they going to share?Split?
  23. Absolutely not. I didn't realize the September game brought that many people from out of town. As great as these programs are they should start planning to play the anual game the first week of December. It would be awesome to see 35,000+ for a state final game.
