Once again I am not.....The schools vote to either seed or blind draw and that is what they vote to do. Now I agree that it would be better to seed but if that is the choice the district makes that is what it is

The 54th also has a blind draw. Hazard and PPC vote to seed, but Buckhorn and Leslie vote to have a blind draw. I assume it must take 3 teams in a 4 team district to vote for seeding. I can't really blame Buckhorn and Leslie for wanting to blind draw, most seasons they are the 3rd and 4th best team in the district and they know if Hazard and PCC draw each other, which they always seem to do, they are going to the region. I would think that most years the rest of the region likes this as well seeing how one of the best teams in the region is sent home after the 1st round of the district.

Maybe you can explain how it makes sense that Bellevue and Dayton are playing for a spot in the regional tournament.

It doesn't make sense for the smaller schools like Dayton and Bellevue to ever want to seed but it would make sense for the KHSAA to do something that is fair across the board. One district shouldn't be doing it one way and the other doing it another. Blind Draw? Seeding? Just pick one. Thats what makes sense but then not much that comes from the KHSAA makes a great deal of sense to me..

Sounds like somebody is getting the shaft.

The biggest shaft is the team that gets to play the loser of the CovCath/Holmes game while one of the other teams gets to play the Bellevue/Dayton team. Think about this if you will. My guess it will be HHS and Bellevue/Dayton from the 36th, then CovCath/Holmes from the 35, then Dixie and Ludlow/Villa from the 34th, and finally Boone Co and (lets just say) Conner. Now lets just set up a Ninth Region draw...

 

Lets say for a example; HHS, CovCath, Dixie and Boone are winners while Dayton, Holmes, Ludlow and Conner are the losers. Now if you are CovCath you can't play Holmes so who would you rather play in your first round game? Think Boone or HHS or even Dixie are praying that they don't get Holmes? It just isn't fair that two teams will get a walk over, while the other two winners will have to fight like hell to get to the second round, just because the 34th, and 36th refuse to seed. So it's just not the teams in the district who are getting shafted by not seeding.... Understand what I am trying to say?

As I have said time and time again; the banner on the wall should read!
