GrizzlyAdams
What was the team that got beat by Dwade and his triple double? I remember saying to myself that year, that UK team was extremly good.
FormerCawoodTrojan
1993 was better IMO.
Tenzing Norgay
I like 1970 and 1997 (with DA) as well as 2003. All were better 'teams' than this year.
kybred
If the 70 team had not lost Mike Casey (broken leg, car acident) they may have had that title.

westsider
Of the ones I've seen ... 1986, 1988 and 1997.
Randy Parker
1993 team was the best in the country. Dale Brown gets hurt, Mashburn fouls out, and we lose in OT. They have to be at the top. 1984 was loaded too, with Bowie, Turpin, & Sky Walker.

Good call on 1984 ... forgot about that team.

Good call on 1984 ... forgot about that team. Brown was a solid scorer, especially in the Michigan game when Ford was swarmed the whole time. Obviously, Mash's fouling out killed us, but I thought Brown going down with injury focused us way too much on Mashburn. People forget that a very young Tony Delk led us in scoring during the overtime period of that game. He & Mash were the only two to score in the extra period. We had gone to a 4 corners offense in OT w/ Mash running the point. Michigan had no answer for it, and we had a 4-point lead. Then Mash fouled out and that was that. StickerMann
But a team with as many as 5 first rounders??
docsavage
1975 wasn't too shabby. Youngsters Jack Givens; Mike Phillips; and Rick Robey. Bruiser Bob Guyette. Role player Mike Flynn. Veteran playmaker Jimmy Dan Conner. Sharpshooter Kevin Grevey and defensive ace Larry Johnson. Beat nearly unbeatable Indiana in the Mideast Regional Final. Lost to UCLA in Finals when John Wooden announced his retirement prior to the game.
FormerCawoodTrojan
But a team with as many as 5 first rounders?? If you are talking talent and potential at the next level...absolutely this year's is the best. As far as a whole team...a case could be made for '84, '86, '93, and '97. Not saying they are all better, but would have a legit argument.
