Your High School Sweetheart

What makes them so special, even after years and years?

I work with a guy “Harry”, and I’m friends with a woman in the neighborhood “Meghan”.

The first time I met Meghan we were chit chatting about where we worked, etc. and she said Oh! Do you know Harry? He works where you work. We were really close friends in high school. I told her that of course I know Harry, everyone knows Harry, Harry is awesome!

A few months later I ran into Harry at work and told him my friend Meghan knows him. He’s like Really??? Oh wow Meghan.... we went to high school together.

Periodically when I run into either they always ask about the other and tell me to say hi. Recently Harry & I coordinated a work event together and at one meeting he got a dreamy look in his eye and talked about Meghan.

I’ve finally figured out they were high school sweethearts, lol.

High School dating was a graveyard of bad situations. Lucky for me, there is something called a "college sweetheart"!:clap:

I don’t know. Perhaps a lasting impression is there, remembering time spent with a person during the stress free days of high school. Whether you were soul mates or not, it was a time of fun—no careers to stress about, no worries about bills, no arguments about the kids.

Yep, but 14 here. Started dating when I was 16, married at 22, and going strong 8 years later.

If I could go back, I don't think I'd have had either lol.

My middle school sweetheart though!

I don't speak to or see mine anymore. 5 and a half years together, 6 months married, and unpleasantly divorced.

I periodically see her mom, but only because she ended up being the godmother to my youngest niece.

Married to mine for 28 years in October... been together 31 total ...

Married about 7 years now.

I'll just say I'm glad I didn't end up with her. :lol2:

Can't believe this many of you wound up with your high school sweetheart.

Me and my HS sweetheart didn't part ways very nicely my Sr. prom night. Haven't seen here in probably 32+ years. Don't reminisce about her.
