  1. 3 Things that I see in-common among these Schools: 1. Good Linemen!!! Don't forget about the Big Boys up front!!! 2. Spread Offenses. A lot of No-Huddle. 3. Discipline and Toughness!
  2. Let me try a Top 10: 1. Danville 2. Newcath 3. Corbin 4. OCath 5. Bardstown 6. Newport 7. Trigg County 8. Middlesboro 9. Ft. Campbell 10. Prestonsburg
  3. 1. Mercer - Fair or unfair, they still had to win the games for the title and they did. 2. Russell - Very tough squad. If anybody had a chance at Mercer, it was these guys!!! 3. Belfry - Well-coached, disciplined, physical team. Beat the 1A champs early in the year! Just didn't have enough to beat the top 2 here. 4. Owensboro Catholic - Very limited without QB vs. Mercer. Deserving of this spot with a healthy QB. Always in contention during late November. 5. Newport - 4 losses, two to Mercer, one to NewCath. Played great Defense all year!
  4. The reason I feel Mercer will win this game: Defense! Their Defense is overshadowed by their O, but they are good! Great Defensive Team Speed! Secondary should fair well vs. Pass.
  5. Congratulations to Coach Mark Perry and the Boys for the big Win!!! This couldn't have happened to a harder working coaching staff and football team!
  6. If Newport and Mercer win, then I believe it will be: Lloyd at Mercer and Spencer at Newport for Week 1 If Newport and Spencer win, then Lloyd at Spencer and Newport at Mercer If Lloyd and Mercer win, then Spencer at Lloyd and Newport at Mercer If Lloyd and Spencer win, then Newport at Spencer and Lloyd at Mercer.
  7. Congratualtions to Duran and the Wildcats!!! It's good to see UK get another in-state talent!!! What position are they anticipating him to play at the next level? I assume he will be a DB, but I'd like to hear from somebody closer to the source.....
  8. I just don't understand why Bracken would schedule a non-district opponent like Boyd County at this stage of their program? It's bad enough that they are in the toughest 1A District in the State! I do not see how this game benefits either team......Maybe somebody out there can enlighten me....
  9. Well TubbyCat, Maybe Coach Hammonds didn't meet your expectations for the Bear Program, but his 34 wins in three seasons and 1 trip to the region were much better than Bracken's 14 wins and 0 trips to the region in the 3 years prior to him coming.....IMO he maximized the talent that he has had at Bracken, and I also know for a fact that at least one other school approached him about a job in the last two years and he stayed at Bracken to try and build that program!!!! So I am not necessarily buying your theory that he has been trying to get a different job every year since his arrival at Bracken Co........
  10. The 10th has lost some good coaches in the last couple of years!!! Kelly (Mason), Willie (Brossart), Buddy (Pendleton), and it sounds like Robert(Bracken)......Is it just me or does it seem like High School coaches are starting to move around as much as college or pro coaches???
  11. Hammonds will do a great job for West!!! He knows the area from his years at GRC and Bourbon County! This is a big loss for Bracken County IMO....
  12. I don't think the name calling is necessary, but here is my take from the outside looking in: I do feel that there are a couple of people that were removed from certain positions when the changes were made, that are still present in the high school or the community that hold Campbell back from progress. It seems like some people would like for Campbell to stay the way it has always been:confused: , therefore resisting changes made by new faces! Then there are other groups of people that want to make Campbell better than it has been in the past (Which is the attitude I believe everybody should have)! They are trying to raise the bar for the kids! Lastly, there seems to be an administration that I'm sure wants to be successful in athletics, but doesn't have a clue what it takes to get there!!! I believe that super that 92Birds keeps raving about needs to get everybody in the same boat!!! This should have happened after the first coach left, but evidently it did not because they lost a great young AD in Roberts!!!
  13. Joe was a great athletic administrator in the 10th region! He was very organized, hard-working, caring, and had a great vision for Campbell County! Unfortunately I feel like he stepped into a buzzsaw! A place that is too bitter about the past to be able to move forward in the present!!! 92Birds, while brutally honest, seems to have accurately identified some of the existing problems! However, I disagree with the fact that there is only 1 good thing in the district! After observing both the baseball and basketball coaches, I feel that they are both quality coaches and great people as well!!! Hopefully Campbell can hold on to them! 92Birds, I'd like to ask you this question: If the super is as good as you say he is, then why has he allowed this nonsense to continue that may have driven out the AD or the FB coach?
  14. I think 6 classes are a little much for the state of Ky! How many other sports have more than one State champ each year? Football needs six??? Here are some of my thoughts after seeing the breakdown: 6A: X or Trinity 5A: Very competitive class and probably will have a winner that hasn't won a championship! 4A: Highlands, LexCath, or CovCath 3A: Paducah Tighlman vs. Russell/Belfry/Breathitt winner 2A: Deepest Class by far in terms of possible teams that could win it. 5A is the only other one that comes close. 1A: Beechwood for many, many years!!!
  15. Henry Clay lost Simpson (QB), Johnson (RB), D1 TE (Name?), and their Offensive Line. I think it will be a tough game for Pikeville due to 4A versus 1A numbers, but they may play the Devils a little better than most are predicting!
  16. It says a lot for Boyle County when 11-2 is thought of as a "low point"! Their run in this decade has reminded me of Beechwood in the 90's! They have a great program and even though Coach Smith is no longer there, I look for continued success for the Rebels!!!
  17. Can SK win the District with these new additions? It sounded like they had a lot coming back anyway.....4A No. Ky. should be just as interesting as ever!!!
  18. I agree Neerfan! He sounds like OL all the way! The question is "How agile is this young man?" He definitely has the size, but if you are talking D1, he better be able to move as well!!! Hopefully Bracken can build an O-Line around him and have some success!!!
  19. Didn't Trimble have a long losing streak before this coach got there last year? He must be doing a nice job if they went 3-7 last season and a lot of kids are coming out for the upcoming year! Sounds like they are turning things around!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  20. I agree Westsider! This will be a good thing for all in Lexington. I never agreed with the boycott for two reasons: 1.) I think there could be some great games between LexCath and some of the public schools in Lexington!!! 2.) Why would schools that have nearly 2000 students boycott a school of about 800? (I don't know that these numbers are exact for enrollment, but they are probably not that far off)
  21. This time of year I like to hear about new Field/Facility Renovations that are going on across the state. New Staiums, Weight Rooms, Fields, Locker Rooms, etc.....Tell us about your school's changes.........
  22. What is the latest on this job? Any word on who they have interviewed? Finalists? Seems to be pretty tight-lipped for such a high profile job!
  23. How many coaches does this make it for North Oldham since they started football? I know they only started playing a couple of years ago....
  24. Biggest Regular Season Upset: Lafayette over Henry Clay Biggest Playoff Upset: Tie Lex. Christian over Beechwood John Hardin over Male
  25. They don't need to get rid of football, but they need to call other teams that have struggled a little and schedule some of them. AKA Bourbon Co., Berea, Nicholas Co., etc. They may not beat them, but they will compete. There district schedule is brutal and they need some confidence early in the season.
