What's the over/under for pts. scored by Boyd Co. in this one.... last year they got 80... so, whats everyone think??

My question is why are they playing again.Whats gained out of 80 point wins/losses.

good lord its @ boyd co. this year.. they'll probably try to break 100.

Don't think that the new coach at Boyd would try to run it up on someone. He is obviously in a game that was contracted before he began and if this game gets out of hand early, I believe that you will see a lot of underclassmen getting the reps. If they were to score, then he would have to make a decision whether to have kids with little to no experience to not go full speed and risk injury. That is why they make the big money.

I think YAK has it right. Coach Evans will not be looking to run up the score.

Here is also an interesting thought, a coach could take a game like this to dress and play the freshman ensuring their varsity participation. If I'm not mistaken this would cause them to think twice about transferring because they would have to sit out a year.

That’s a good plan YAK – and the freshmen would love getting in a game on Friday night in front of the big home crowd.

In the future, I don't think that Coach Evans would avoid playing someone better if he had the chance.

I agree and will also say that Coach Evans will call the Lions off "IF" the game is in control, but as came up last year don't expect the young guys to lay down....Heck, who knows maybe Bracken County might make a game of it and this will all be mute;)

I just don't understand why Bracken would schedule a non-district opponent like Boyd County at this stage of their program? It's bad enough that they are in the toughest 1A District in the State! I do not see how this game benefits either team......Maybe somebody out there can enlighten me....

Id say it was $$$ related but for Boyd its a good chance to get their feet wet before playing a big dog opponent

Last year I spoke with alot of Bracken Co. Parents at the game. Their starting line up were all home with the flu and out of the game so maybe this year they will have a better line-up. And considering it was a realllllly young football team, I believe only in their 3rd season showing up with half a team was a rough one on them for sure. Anyone know what they did with the rest of their season? And yes $$$ is definately what got them up here so I don't think they were really worried about the outcome of the game as much as what the games did for their booster program's funds.

Hmmm, I am trying to read into this statement....

I think we all know what the outcome will be, but very, very interesting comment. Maybe a little harsh feelings there huh?:thumb:

Plus, since we are using "IF'S". What do you feel would be the score, "IF" you were coaching Boyd?

Please don't read ANYTHING into the my statement.

I'm sure that a any "good" coach would not go into "any" game expecting an easy win!!! Maybe I'm just stupid? So, I guess trying to be polite to the Bracken faithful, as I was, is a slap in the new coach's face? PLEASE... Heck, I have no clue about Bracken County but I would never try to discrace an opponent by saying "We all know what the outcome will be". Have you got my drift yet?

As far as your comment about harsh feelings there are none from this end. As soon as Coach Damron left I said that Lee Evans should be the next Head Coach at Boyd County. Look it up in the old threads:p It seems to me that the harsh feelings are coming from somewhere else than from the Tomcat Camp;) I wish Lee the best of luck at Boyd County!!! I know that he has wanted to be a Head Coach for sometime and I'm glad that he now has his chance and I think he will be a good one.

Now could you leave all of that other horse poo out of it RedBlood??? Good luck to your Lions except the last week of October:thumb:
