Quite possibly the biggest upset of the year in 2A as the 6-4 squad from Washington Co. shuts down the #2 ranked and previously undefeated Western squad.

 

Washington County avoids a 3 way tie with Desales and Etown which could have resulted possibly in them missing the playoffs..and instead grabs a 3 seed

That probably was a factor, but Washington Co. has pretty good speed themselves and were always competitve when they have come to Corbin to play in the playoffs. Their district is usually deep in good teams with Larue Co., DeSales, Western, E-town, CAL & Washington Co. fielding good teams.

Washington County is rebuilding a nice program with Coach Perry. They have good numbers, some talented athletes, a balanced attack, and a solid defense. I expect them to be contenders again within a short time.
