A certified used BMW the ultimate driving machine is a great option. Go test drive one you will be hooked.

I am in the market for a Certified used BMW right now....looking at the 2004-2006 525i's and 530i's....the sport packages look very nice.

MC nice to see you got a brand spanking new vehicle.....always nice to get in and smell that smell. I am partial to Hondas but the sonata is a nice car. My father inlaw has a 2008 and he loves his and it has some getttyup.

I also like Hondas. However, Honda wound up 3rd on the list. The Accord at a comparable price is a pretty basic vehicle. For the same price, we get more horses, better mpg, low pro tires with sweet rims. chrome tipped dual exhaust, way more technology (bluetooth, XM radio, ipod dock, and more) and warranty that blows Hondas away. BTW, the Altima ran a close second. Didn't like the interior. Consumers Report.org has the Sonata 3rd in the class behind 2 Altimas. Honda was 5th or 6th, I believe. Anyone in the market PM me. I got a guy that will give you a pretty good deal on one.

Test drive a 535 (2008 or newer) or any 335 with the 300HP twin turbo engine it is rated the best engine in the world and for a reason it is unbelievable quick and gets close to 30mpg. I promise you will be hooked.

Mrs C and I always rent a car for a weekend and drive it around a bunch. Usually we'll take a weekend trip up to Chicago or something and put a few miles on it to see if we like it. Weekend rates are pretty cheap. $100 for a weekend. You'll find out if you like it then. Narrow your choice down to the 2 you like best, and then do a little real driving in it. You're going to be paying for it for a while, best to make sure you like it.
Rented a Sonata last year when I was in Ohio. Wasn't impressed. Good gas mileage, but it lacked power and the ride was terrible.

I bought my 2000 Honda Accord brand new and I still drive it. I have probably only put $2000 into this car and that is for standard oil changes, tuneups, brakes and I had to replace the bearings when it only had 40,000 miles which was rather unusual but the only real cost to this vehicle.

I love Hondas and I can hook you up with a local guy who is a Honda Mechanic (25 yrs) and does work out of his home garage. i have been going to him for 20 yrs and he is dirt cheap.

My son is a Honda Tech. I drive his 05 Accord a lot. He's got it lowered and the performance suspension on it, so it rides a little rough, but it handles great and has power. If I had to replace, that's the way I'd go.

While none of our five cars are a Fusion, I am very impressed with that car. Tried to talk my son into getting one (ended up with Dodge Avenger). It is simply a very nice car. I am equally - maybe more so - impressed with the looks of the new Taurus. I remember when I first saw one parked on the street in Covington and specifically walked around to the back of the car to see what is was. I was utterly stunned when I saw it was a Taurus. That is one sharp-looking car. Don't know anything about the reviews on how it drives, but it looks great.

I've always been a Toyota guy ('87 Tercel, '90 Celica, '00 Corolla) but since the wife bought her 2002 Hyundai Elantra I've become a fan of their brand. We have had zero problems, just went over 100K and for the price they are hard to beat. If I were to purchase a car it would be down to these: Camry, Accord, Sonata, Malibu or Fusion. I love the looks of the new Sonata and I agree with Clyde, they look more expensive than the tag suggests. The wife is on a new car kick, and I always have to knock her down to reality. She really wants a CRV/Rav4, and I told her today, you are going to drive that Hyundai until the wheels fall off. I don't think that went down too well but I just can't justify spending 300 pluss a month on a vehicle. Good luck and keep us updated.

One of those will be my next purchase...I would buy the Rav now, but I am holding out hope that they drop the wheel on the back door in their future models.

I drive a new Taurus Limited. WOW !! Five years ago I would have never thought an American car company was capable of this quality. From the sync system to the power and suspension. A blast to drive. The room is also underappreciated. I don't mean to step on anybodys toes. With the way the world is and with what Ford has done. You should be buying American !
