FC
Not sure how Chinese it is, but at several of the Chinese buffets in my area they have the grill where you choose the raw meat and vegis and they fry it up while u wait with various types of sauces. It is much better than the one hour old stuff on the buffet bar and probably healthier.

TaterSalad
I am sure that most of the Chinese food I really enjoy is Americanized lol. I probably wouldn't like real Chinese cuisine. I can promise that you wouldn't!!!!!:puke:
TaterSalad
I realize that. But most of the dishes you find at least have some origin in actual China. Vaguely, I have seen very few dishes that look anything like what I get in China at any Chinese restaurant in the US.
Birdsfan
I like a lot of Chinese food. But does anyone have some suggestions for choices that aren't going to be filled with calories, like all the fried stuff? I'm also not very good at figuring out what all the Chinese dish names mean. 20/20Hindsight
Chicken Paad Thai (minus the peanuts). I've only actually had it from Casual Chinese in Newport, but it's pretty good.

Jim Schue
Vaguely, I have seen very few dishes that look anything like what I get in China at any Chinese restaurant in the US. True. I've been known on occasion to tell the chef to "make it like you would like it." Sometimes with good results, sometimes not.
