MentschTrachtGottLacht
I've been to Crave for lunch on two different occasions (both times, it was a "treat" from a friend). Each time, it was relatively full, and I commented that I couldn't believe that many people spend $20-25 on lunch (I'm typically $5-8). I can only assume the majority were business lunches that were being expensed. Nothing in America has inflated more rapidly over the last 15 years than lunch prices. I went to Buckhead recently alone for a quick bite, had a bowl of chili and a cobb salad, with an iced tea, and before tip it was $23. Let that sink in. nkuclubbaseball19
.... I eat at Crave for lunch on a regular basis and it is always full or nearly so. I have eaten there for dinner on two occasions, once on a Saturday night with nothing big going on (3/4 full at least) and once with Hellbird and his wife before Elton John and it was over-flowing people and the wait for a table was over an hour at peak time. If it is closing I will be shocked. I have nothing to add to the thread since I've never been to Crave, but let me know when you have a day for lunch. I can meet you downtown or wherever you'd like to go.
LOOGY
The problem with the Banks is it almost feels seperated from downtown. It's kind of a weird place to get to.

Yeah, the city planners 50+ years ago who decided to put Ft. Washington Way between downtown and the river made a big mistake...
ggclfan
Its too expensive. I have always thought that about Crave as well...

Mushroom Jack Chicken Dinner with two sides is 12.99 at Buckheads. Skip that salad stuff.
B-Ball-fan
I get the impression that when people flock to The Banks they're more inclined to want to visit bars and restaurants on the main drag side where there's more of a heart, vibe, and a pulse, such as the ever popular Holy Grail. The other side were Toby Kieths and Crave are/were located, although close by, seems a little bit away from the action. Bengal Maniac
Eaten ate Crave once and it was full and just ok. I have eaten at Ruth's Chris probably 10 times and always have trouble getting weekend reservations, even in the winter. They probably do pretty well, but they only cater to a certain group due to expensive prices.
Mustang
I wonder if it would help if the area could get a tie-in with Horseshoe Casino, such as shuttle trollys in the summer and shuttle buses in the winter. On off nights, you could dine and drink at the Banks, hop a trolly, roll over to the Horseshoe (which has Binions, Bobby Flay's, and Margeritaville) and return when your money runs out via the same route to your car, parked in its original Banks location - or vise versa. Just a thought!

LOOGY
Aren't they putting in a street car over there? The idiots who designed and voted for it made it go in one giant circle which hardly gets you anywhere. Doesn't go to the casino at all, stupid ignorant waste of money. MentschTrachtGottLacht
Doesn't go to the casino at all Every time I hear this brought up I love how the pro-street car folks remind you that it will have a station only 2 blocks from the casino. My reply, "yeah, but that is a really ugly 2 blocks to walk at night...especially if I have a pocket full of loot."

Doesn't go to the casino at all, stupid ignorant waste of money. I always have dug seeing what the city of Cincy has in mind to update downtown, as much as I am in favor of saving classic structures that display its rich history. I'm disappointed that so many classic theaters and hotels saw the wrecking ball long before I was born, or during my childhood, but dig it when sparkling projects such as the Smale Riverfront Park, Friendship Park, or the Banks come to fruition. (If you're not familiar with the International Friendship Park, it's a well taken care of gem, and free parking for it can be found towards the end of the giant Montgomery Inn Boathouse parking lot. It has it's own parking lot entrance about an 1/8 of a mile past the MIB parking lot entrance. Pick a beautiful day to stroll through it and I guarantee you'll enjoy the experience while nestled between the natural beauty of the Ohio River and the Hills of Mt. Adams). I'm hoping that the rail system proves to be a success, but I've yet to see exactly its necessity, and have many questions about the logistics or possible pitfalls, and at present can only take a wait and see approach to it for my vision is cloudy at best as to how it's all going to go down. Some are aware of the long ago abandoned subway system that never saw the light of day, but I wonder if there's many who are aware that Cincinnati did it again in recent years with the opening in 2003 of the Underground Transit Center that to this day still has not been used. In this day and age I can't imagine why the city would have put so much money into a project just to see it sit now for 12 years unused with no real plans in place to utilize it. This video is 4 years old now talking about it, but still very much valid.
PP1
Crave has a nice 100% Lamb Burger. What kills me as far as the banks is I despise paying to park. I won't pay to park in order to go and buy lunch or dinner. I only go to the banks if I'm parking in newport and walking or taking the shuttle to a ball game.
