Okay lets try this.... St. X and Trinity love the idea of a private class. They immediately contract with the GCL South to play the 4 Cincy teams. They add the Tenn and Cleveland private power teams. And the best private teams in Indy want on the schedule because all of them have trouble filling out the schedule. So Trinity and St.X play a double header at Papa Johns every Friday they can and draw 20,000 every time. Games are on ESPNU. Kids in Louisville area flock to these schools because of all the exposure they would get. In the playoffs Trinity and St. X play for private school Big school championship. Meanwhile the other smaller private schools play each other a couple of games and then against the best smaller school powers in Ohio and Tenn and Indiana. Highlands and Beechwood decide they would like to play the private schools too in the regular season so they join in the rotation and only play the 3 district games they have to play against public schools. Everyone thinks it works out well, good competition, nice attendance and everyone wonders why they did not do it years ago. Danville decides Beechwood has an advantage so they want it the rotation and Boyle County jumps in also. Bowling Green looks at it and decides they would like to play CovCath and St.X and some Ohio and TN private teams as it can only help them in their playoffs. All is well.

That is correct. How that is divided up we do not know as the KHSAA only needs to know the entire amount to compare salaries for Boy and Girl sports purposes.

The salary numbers have to be reported to the KHSAA under Title IX and can be viewed on their website. All salary numbers for all sports have to be reported.

See the other thread for what NCC pays coaches and your task becomes very difficult if not impossible.

I get that even the schools that pay double what NCC does still have coaches that are not compensated fairly for their time and efforts. And we know that public school systems are going to be able to pay more. The two public schools in NCCs district that have 1 win against NCC since the 90s pay more and those coaches still are not making what they should. My point is when you are paying what NCC does you are not going to get some outsider that wants to stay for any length of time. You will need to get someone who is not in it for the money at all.

I think you will find that is significantly less than a lot of NKY schools with traditionally good football programs.

All the Football Coaches salaries combined is $23,000. (It is Title IX information on the KHSAA web site). Not many "outsiders" are going to be willing to work with that low number.

No it cannot be free. Any award has to come from a third party that is applied to and that third party knows how much in the "pool" and how much can be awarded based on financial need only and the percentage awarded to a student is limited. That is for every school. The school itself has nothing to do with it other than saying this is the amount in the pool.

I don't think any private school in Kentucky can offer free tuition. Any tuition assistance is done thru an independent third party and there are limits to the amount/percentage of tuition assistance (I think it is like 40%) and the identity of those awarded assistance is never known to the school itself before the third party makes a decision based on financial factors only.

After the then Bishop Hughes got talked/scared/threatened out of a centralized Catholic high school across from St Joes (now a Bob Evans and medical buildings) things kind of stagnated and then the Diocese found itself in deep trouble with all the lawsuits from the bad Priests and their troubling behavior. Nothing could be green-lighted because the Diocese knew there was going to be massive payouts. Then when the Marydale property was sold off to fund the record 120 million dollar payout to victims in 2005. things could go forward. The 2007-2009 recession soon followed. After that both NCC and Brossart made academic improvements (if you are a theater fan you really like them) to their schools that did not directly involve athletics. That kind of leaves athletic improvements as the next logical step I guess.

Again you are not understanding our point. At SOME traditional football schools like NCC, Beechwood, Mayfield, Highlands, Danville, etc. a drop in enrollment is not really going to affect the football product in a linear fashion. A traditional football school that has 200 boys and 45-50 on the football team will probably still have 45-50 on the football team and do just as well when the enrollment is at 180. A non-traditional football school that has 200 boys and struggles to have 30 on the roster year after year might feel the enrollment drop to 180 and be lucky to get 25 on the roster. That same school could have an enrollment increase to 225 and still not get 30 kids on the roster. Enrollment drop or increase does not necessarily correspond to roster size and success at all schools.

I think what we are saying is that at "traditional" football schools enrollment does not have a big effect on football roster size. There are 1A teams that despite their small enrollment have 50 kids year after year on their team while their are 3A teams that are challenged to have have 30 on their rosters year after year. There are 6A schools with 100 on the roster and 6A schools with 40 on their roster year after year despite being the same enrollment size. In some schools a dip in enrollment can be a real blow while in others it really does not matter all that much.

If Player A family income took a hit by a parent losing a job and they can no longer afford tuition then why would she not be eligible in her new public school? If Player C moved and the new address was being verified or if Player C was in a county school system with open enrollment or left a public school system to go to an independent public school system why would she not be eligible?

What if the plan was 346 pages and each one said, "Beat CovCath!!"

Dayton, Bellevue, Newport had 7 Catholic grade schools in the 60s and now there is 1 small one in Northern Campbell Co. The feeder schools for Brossart are much larger than those for NCC, but NCC has larger enrollment due to the "splitting" of St Joe's. The NCC feeder schools and the cities they are located in will only get smaller as more urban flight occurs. That slow process has been in place for 40 years now.
