Whose fault is that? If the residents of Boone Co do not like it then work to change it. Don't cry that other counties and cities aren't dumb enough to restrict themselves.

For that matter there is no rule that Boone Co had to build Conner HS, then Ryle HS, then Cooper HS and tell students which one to go to. They could be like Scott Co and have say two Boone Co schools with 2300 kids in each. Be bigger than Trinity.

There is no KHSAA rule that says Boone County has to tell kids what district they reside in and what school they have to go to. And there is no KHSAA rule that tells Kenton County that kids can go to Dixie or Simon Kenton or Scott.

Well then you either accept the rules that Boone County has laid out and go to the school you are forced to go to.....or you organize an effort to change the Boone County rules to be like Kenton County where Cousin Eddie can go to Dixie and his sister Susie can go to Dixie and his brother Fred can decide to go to Scott.

Again they do not have to move. They can attend other schools and live in Boone Co. They just can't attend the Boone Co school of their choice. Meanwhile Cousin Eddie in the next county has his pick of public county schools to attend. Who loses there?

Well in NKY it is a matter of moving as little as a mile. :sssh: And you can live in Boone County and go to a school in another county if you want to. You just can't go to a different public school in Boone Co which is a Boone Co rule. Want to go to Highlands which is a public school? Pay tuition and have at it.

And this season you want to see Trinity and CovCath? What about the most thrilling 6A Final ever between Trinity and public school Male?

Why do you want to reside in a county where you are forced to go to a certain public school when there is a county next door that does not force you to go to a certain school?

Maybe you should move one county over where you can play for whatever school you want.

Trinity has 1,155 boys. That is smaller than at least 3 public schools. Public schools have kids from multiple counties on their rosters.

Not much buzz on this one since Ludlow at Beechwood, Highlands at CovCath and even Campbell County at Simon Kenton are all getting attention. Is that because NCC has never lost a District game since KY went to 6 classes? Is Lloyd flying under the radar and is this the year? Is NCC finally healthy or will it still be relying on depth to beat the Juggs? Is this game even more important this year in cross bracketing because you don't want to have to travel in the playoffs? Who wins?

Beechwood. Which is a huge factor. Turf. Big Home Crowd. Small area for Visiting fans. Good cheeseburgers. No Parking. 23 announcements that cars will be towed from the Kroger Lot if not parked in designated spots. Nice band. Walk 1/2 mile to the restroom.

In volleyball you would have 4-6 competing for a State Championship (if they are realistic) and everyone else independent.

One thing to remember as everyone concentrates on Ludlow's offense and Blackburn's ability to generate points..............he is also going both ways and is a defensive standout. So naturally the more Beechwood can make him work on defense the less effective he and Ludlow will be on offense. I really think the game comes down to how much the BW offense can score on the Ludlow defense. Ludlow has to avoid short fields and needs to get off the field on defense.

I do not think I understand. What does Top 50 mean? Also do not understand how 6A can barely have a winning record at 65-59 when every school they play in state would be smaller schools? Should that be a lot better? 5A I can understand being 88-86 if they play a lot of 6A teams and not many 4A to 1A teams. And wouldn't it be expected that 1A would have a losing record every year if every team they play is larger?

In which game will the winner be decided by the smallest margin. Who wins and by how many? Your choices: A. Campbell County at Simon Kenton B. Highlands at CovCath C. Lloyd at NewCath D. Ludlow at Beechwood

Tossup game. Kind of depends on which team shows up for both. Could see Brossart leading at the half and then trying to hold on in the second half.

True but the problem is the District schedule and then Bellevue and the first playoff game result in long stretch where starters are not playing a full game and limits what can be worked on. If they could find a good 3A/4A/5A team for that last game it would help.

The weak District is not helping Walton. They have already played the two best teams on their schedule in non-district play. In the future they may need to schedule the last game of the year against a very good team in order to prep for the playoffs.

Can't really fault BW for the fact that they were the largest 1A school and are now quite a bit larger than several 2A schools because when the alignment happened they were just that ....the largest 1A school. I do not see any way they would still qualify for 1A in the next alignment if the same rules are applied. Now on to the game at hand.....Ludlow can't play from behind all night. Their best situation would be to get a score early and put Beechwood on their heels. Easier said than done. One other area Beechwood always seems to beat teams in are the special teams. Ludlow can't give BW any short fields, and they can't get field position flipped on them constantly. They will likely have to go 80 yards after each kickoff so they can't have any 3 and outs followed by a 25 yard net punt.

SK gets both the Camels and Ryle at Home which is huge. Obviously Camels can't put the ball on the ground and will have to throw it somewhat in order to keep SK from stacking the box. If Camels get a lead look out. Important for SK to get off to a better start than they normally do. Kicking game will be big in this one since it should be very close.

Lots of teams have got down to defeat thinking the other team was too one-dimensional to beat them. Let me sum this up again: CovCath is a very good 5A team but did not play as well as they are capable of especially up until the final minute of the first half. Chatard is a good Indiana 3A team who plays a tough schedule and is 3-5 and lost decisively to all the bigger good schools but that schedule will prepare them for their postseason competition. If these teams played again 10 times CovCath would win all 10 times and the margins would be similar or greater. This is the best CovCath team in quite awhile and they have the opportunity to run the table and maybe at the end of the year they will be among the best NKY teams in the last decade but there were some pretty good Highlands teams in the last decade too.

Chatard is 3-5. They do play a tough schedule. They are not world-beaters and they are not a GCL South team who's last place winless in the GCL South team led Trinity by a good margin before losing 38-30. They would be a competitive playoff team in KY Class 3A and most likely 4A but they would not be the favorite in either class. They obviously would have no chance in 5A or 6A and not so sure they would fare all that well in 2A this year.
