A Christmas Story Live

I watched most of it. All I’ll say is sometimes it’s better to leave well enough alone. Any other watchers? Anyone like it?

I could only stomach three minutes or so.

I couldn’t do it. The charm of the film was Jean Shepherd’s narration. Had no desire to watch last night.

I tried a few times but kept turning away...it was horrific, at least the parts that I watched. It just doesn't work as a musical.

As soon as I realized it was a musical I turned it off, and that was about 30 seconds in.

Same here. Gave it a try, it was horrific! Why mess with a classic?

I’m glad I’m not the only person who hated it. They added way to much superfluous material. I saw a stage version at Actors Theater in Louisville a few years ago. It was very true to the movie and quite good. This was a PC abomination.

The original movie is awful. Why would I subject myself to another version.

Why on Earth would anyone have watched this when “The Sound of Music” was just a few short clicks away? Watched it for what must be the 20th time Sunday night.

Didn't watch it myself, but read a review of it that described the changes they made to the restaurant scene, and how all the Twitter comments were overjoyed at them.

Not just that scene. There was a whole new backstory on Schwartz and being Jewish at Christmas, in fact he and his mother were at the Chinese restaurant at the end.

MrsC and one of our sons, were actually looking forward to watching it.

At about the 10 minute mark we all looked at each other at the same time and said "This is awful"

My parents saw the musical at the aronoff like 2 weeks before and loved it. They watched the live show on TV the other and said it was awful. I watched about 5 minutes of it and changed the channel.
