  1. Spencer has never been. I believe SK last went in ‘95. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
  2. One interesting tidbit of information is Gallatin County’s lone win over North Oldham came in the 2008 8th Region semifinals. It earned the Wildcats only their second regional final appearance, their first coming in 1959 when they won the 8th Region under the guidance of Jock Sutherland.
  3. Could be rematches in both semifinals from last year. Lloyd/Newport and Cooper/CovCath.
  4. In the 8th Region bylaws all 8 schools have to agree to move it to Saturday. The last vote, maybe last March, was 7-1 to move it. Wasn’t told who the lone dissenter was.
  5. Honored to say I was at the game and in the photo. Congrats, Charlie!
  6. The 29th is a 3 team District because Trimble requested a move to the 31st
  7. Several years ago (at least 10) I was told the better officials called college games on Saturday. Not sure how many call college games anymore. It’s not a District game, but I’m headed to Spencer-Gallatin in about an hour or so. Wondering if any of the top officials will be there.
  8. Saw that 66 fouls were called. Fourth quarter lasted 38 minutes which led to a 1 hour and 53 minute game. Excruciating second half to sit through .
  9. You might add Ryle at Gallatin County on Saturday afternoon. Tip at 3:30.
  10. Providing everyone returns Woodford County is a heavy, heavy favorite.
  11. WKU’s Dayvion McKnight has reportedly entered the portal. Next stop Louisville?
  12. Newport also is an “A” school. Lost 74-72 to Holy Cross in Regional final.
  13. Are tickets available at the door or just online?
  14. This may have been the wackiest 8th Region Tournament ever. Three teams failed to break 30 points. One game had a 35-2 run in the second half. The #3 team in the state had 2 points with 3:20 left in the second quarter of their semifinal game. The last 6 games were all decided by double digits and an average winning margin of 19.2 points. The average score of the losing team was 37 points . And to top it off the Champions were 5-9 and 13-12 at one time.
  15. After watching the games at Henry County I’m more convinced than ever that this may have been the biggest upset in the state this season.
  16. Can those Newport students that wanted to play go to another school and play if they so desire?
  17. The results the past two nights validates the 31st District championship was an upset of monumental proportions.
  18. You can also add Washington County and Cooper, who are still playing. And Central, who gave Ballard all they wanted in the first round of the 7th.
