Cooper/Newport finals

I will be going here on Monday.

There has been different talk of broadcasts, I will be live broadcasting each Highlands game of the tournament!

Starting tomorrow, with Highlands/NDA , and then Wednesday with Highlands/Cooper.

Hoping to do a few games for the Birds! 

Could be rematches in both semifinals from last year. Lloyd/Newport and Cooper/CovCath.

Bottom half of the bracket did no one any favors. A packed house if Newport makes the finals against CovCath or Cooper. Nice arena but I hate the parking. I’m still old school and wish it was being held at Holmes still.

Was having a talk with a friend of mine the other day about this and he made the comment of just how expensive it is to take a family to a regional tournament game. He made a good point. It’s like going to the movies. The tickets are reasonable, but after that it’s not. No one wants to pay concert and college game prices for concessions and parking. 
 

The ninth region has had more success in the state tourney since moving the tournament to NKU, but I’ve found the atmosphere to be pretty weak. Some of the games there just seem lifeless. 

I fully enjoy the games at NKU and cannot wait for them to start. There have been some epic games at NKU over the years including last years semi between Cooper and CCH and the finals which went down to the final shot buzzer beater. And the 4OT battle in 2011 between Dixie and NCC was unmatched as most people weren’t sitting in their seat for a nearly 3 hour game! The atmosphere is perfect and will be this year as well with so many NKY teams in the top 25. 
 

I’ve been to a ton of regionals when they were at Holmes. If you didn’t get there at least a hour early you weren’t getting parking spot anywhere close let alone getting in the gym, especially with the battles between the Bulldogs and Colonels were taking place. The fan interest is just too large in our area and ONLY NKU can hold the crowds and since the games are not streamed it’s the only option and personally I like having a comfortable seat and some elbow room! 

Great post. My main issue is parking in the garage and then having to walk as far as you do to get into the arena.

Planning on going to a few games, are tickets still $10 at the gate? No cash. 

Parking $5?

Is there a session pass, if I buy one game, can I stay for the second? I forget how NKU works.

I believe they are 12 at gate, 8 thru the schools, yes you can watch both games tonight for one price.

@TheConch $12 per session covers two games.
