How well do you know Scott? I know Scott well. And enjoy his company. And I recognize he is not the type to be very outspoken about such thing, and think he handled attending the games and supporting Nolan with class. But I also am surprised he has not told Nick to quiet down. He’s a successful coach, businessman, and you’d think he would recognize that the pony show on Facebook is doing more harm than good to the reputation of his son. I know he’s your friend, but it’s truth, regardless if people are saying it or not. Incoherent? You couldn't make out the meaning and intent behind his posts? I'm not sure who that says more about. I understand the intent behind all of his posts, and maybe incoherent was the improper choice of words to describe this, more so unnecessary. I have no problem with him sharing his thoughts or feelings, but the video clips, memes, and emojis are childish way to get your point across. Laughable to think he was telling the truth? What did he say, specifically, that you deemed untruthful? You are taking everything Nick says as gospel, when in reality, he was not in the room for any of these meetings. He is either 1) hearing only the portion that Scott is telling him or only wants him to hear or 2) has lost sight of his original argument from the beginning. He originally blamed Tony and Bob. That fell on its face when the diocese agreed to have a meeting with him. Then he blamed the diocese, and now it’s all Jack Lenihan’s fault? Why are we to believe Nick as gospel, I get it, he’s your friend, but we aren’t supposed to believe Jack Lenihan for going to the diocese in the first place? Nick wanted to make a big splash and bring awareness to what he felt was an injustice to his family, to his father. Hard to argue he didn't accomplish that, even if you disagree with his method. Did he entertain us on BGP and get a bunch of shares and comments on Facebook? Sure, but again, even his “splash” accomplished nothing. Scott is no longer employed by CovCath, he is and most likely never will be in the hall of fame, he never received an apology or statement from the diocese, and he is not going to get a public statement from Jack Lenihan either, possibly just a defamation lawsuit. The people that were going to support Scott were going to support Scott, the people that were going to support CovCath/diocese were going to support CovCath/diocese, no post of Nick’s changed anyone’s mind on the matter, and if it did, no one of importance. That is all I’m saying when it comes to this accomplished nothing.

This is assuming whatever Nick has posted has been the truth. Not one comment from Scott on the matter. If I were fired from my job today, I wouldn’t leave it to my 25 year old to ‘fight the good fight’ for me on social media. Again, Nick’s incoherent posts accomplished nothing. Sure, I’m sure he feels like he accomplished a lot, and hats off to him, but taking his word for it and labeling it as all the truth has come out, is just laughable.

After further inquiries, this is true. Not sure as to what occurred for the last minute switch up, but I was told SK has reached out to a CovCath defensive assistant regarding the opening.

Not when they have the trump card, a QB trainer.

I have not heard anything since I heard he took the job, so if that’s the case, something changed.

And couldn’t coach a Dixie kid at Dixie, CovCath kid at CovCath, etc. as the facilities are closed to their own student athletes.

It has nothing to do with Highlands vs Non Highlands field. I simply responded to the picture of said instance because it is the first time I saw it. Had he been a Dixie coach, coaching same group of kids at Dixie’s field, I would have asked the same thing. And in my eyes, being paid vs non paid has nothing to do with it. If he is on Highlands (or insert any other school you’d like) staff, and have gone through KHSAA coaches training, rules clinics, etc. that is required each year, then I do not understand how he is able to communicate with and associate with kids outside of his team. Furthermore, am I to believe that these kids’ head coaches and coaching staffs are not permitted to communicate with their own players during KHSAA dead period, yet Matt is allowed to train with, communicate with, etc. during that time because he’s an unpaid coach and as long as he doesn’t coach a Highlands kid at Highlands, a Dixie kid at Dixie, and CovCath kid at CovCath at that time, then it’s permitted?

People like me? I simply asked a question. I just don’t see how a coach employed by one school is allowed to be in contact with kids enrolled at bother school. I’m glad to see the kids getting extra work in, and I am not doubting Matt’s resume or coaching ability. But if it were Hayden Sphire training O’Hara/ Harney/ etc, do we see an issue with that?
