Scott Ruthsatz Denied Covington Catholic Hall of Fame

Featured Replies

The following is posted to social media by Nick Ruthsatz, former CCH basketball player and son of Scott.

Obviously, two sides to every story, but what say you?

Scott Ruthsatz (my dad) is NOT allowed into the cov cath hall of fame. Making this decision LESS THAN 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT.

From there it gets much deeper & I am here to expose it all.

After multiple social media announcements as well as celebratory dinners with the leaders that invited him into the hall of fame, Cov cath does NOT plan to address why he is not allowed in. CovCaths “leaders” told our family & others to lie to people about this decision on the event.

These “leaders” have used my family as intimidation to make me not speak out…  On top of each of them claiming if I say anything they will get fired. Really…

Guys let's remember this is all over a high school HALL OF FAME… who really cares??? Like seriously..
Because of an induction into the hall of fame you will get fired if I speak out? Yes this was said multiple times. WOW. Sounds to me like there must be a lot more to this story than we know.

I’ve known these people for 10 plus years I am not somebody from the outside. I’ve spoken to multiple that are affiliated with the school that feel the same way. The disrespect my family has experienced is on another level & has to be brought to light.

This is all intertwined with my dads resignation last MAY. So who is really making the decisions at cov cath? If you have a son there now or were thinking about it I would highly encourage you to hear whats really happening with the current decision makers & make your own decision after that. Feel free to give me a call.

On top of that big donors need to understand what’s happening behind the scenes as well. Now for the donors who have influenced these “leaders” to make these decisions against my dad & OTHERS I hope it was worth it.

These “Leaders” aren’t who you think they are?‍♂️

Multiple videos & blogs coming soon….

Honestly I think (hope) the likelihood of fireworks has faded here. I went to the Hall of Fame induction last night and it was really a great time. Even only having 4 people inducted instead of 6

  • All I can say is, if anyone still thinks Scott resigned by his own free will, they are still sadly mistaken.

  • What do you mean ??????!?!?

The “videos and blogs” that follow should be interesting.

Yeah, that threw me off lol.

Wow. I hope he followed the 24hr rule before putting that out there.

I thought I saw somewhere that Nick & Scott were to be inducted into the CovCath HoF sometime this year.

Seems odd that something like that would be publicized & then pulled back.

I have a dear friend within the diocesan operation whose word I trust absolutely implicitly. They told me that Coach Ruthsatz's hall of fame induction was shot down by none other than Bishop Iffert. Iffert was unaware that CCH intended to put Scott Ruthsatz in their hall of fame until last week, and he put the kibosh on it as soon as he found out.

That would explain the course of events and why CCH would go to the trouble of putting out advertisements for the hall of fame banquet with Ruthsatz's face all over them and then end up walking back on his induction.

Is it not odd that they would even induct him so soon after he left? Am I crazy to think they would wait about 5 or 10 years?

He's either deserving or he isn't.  Decision also could have been made initially so that he & Nick went in together.

The principal and AD are basketball guys before anything else. They knew Ruthsatz was gonna get in at some point so they went ahead and made it happen this year since his son Nick was voted in. That way they could go in at the same time. Correct.

Ok, I can buy into that. I just don't think I've ever seen it happen so soon. I could be wrong though.

Good for Nick for calling this out and it’s a little ridiculous for Scott to not be in based off his accomplishments. Going in with his son would be very cool and clearly well deserved.

What was so bad that the Bishop decided it was worth his time to stop this?
