That would explain the course of events and why CCH would go to the trouble of putting out advertisements for the hall of fame banquet with Ruthsatz's face all over them and then end up walking back on his induction.

Zero surprise to me. When I first heard about this, that's the Bishop was the first thought that came to mind.

Exactly. That's the piece much of the public is missing. Ruthsatz 'resignation' in May was fishy, and he was the bigger man at that point who took the high road at that time. 

 

The HOF induction 7 months later seemed like a good idea to bring the 2 parties (CCH + Ruthsatz) back to good terms. Cowardly for the Bishop or Diocese to not release a statement.

There also could be a confidentiality agreement in place between dad and the diocese.  Those aren't uncommon in resignation situations.  If that is the case we may never know the reason.  

Nor would Scott tell his son the whole truth if the truth isn’t as pretty as people believe it to be.

That’s for certain. The obvious assumption here is the only people that truly know what occurred is the Bishop, Bob, Tony, and Scott. 

Nick is only hearing what Scott is telling him, Bob and Tony can only do and say what the bishop is telling them, and clearly no one wants to (or is allowed to legally), come out and say what really occurred. 

It’s a shame all the way around. Without knowing all the facts, you can’t blame the bishop. Without knowing all the facts, you can’t blame Tony and Bob, and without knowing the facts, you can’t blame Scott. 

It is a terrible look posting and promoting, then having to rescind the HOF nomination. Scott did some incredible things while at CovCath, and certainly earned the HOF, but he is not this innocent bystander that had it ripped from him for no reason. 

My experience with Bob and Tony have always been top notch, sure there is always a hint of “used car salesman” depending on the subject, but you’ll find that with many people in positions that know things, but can’t speak on them. 

As for Nick, he is rushing to blast Bob and Tony on social media, but again, he does not know the whole truth. 

Sad situation for all.

The mistake I believe Nick is making is believing what his contacts in the Bishop's office are telling him.

The whole situation just seems so odd to me. @TheConch drilled it with his last reply. Only four people know what went down. Truth be told, the only person that 100% knows is Scott. 

That being said, I am an outsider to the whole story. Does anyone have any speculation or stories as to how to entire "resignation" went down?

The Diocese moves at a slow pace when issues arrise.  Remember the delay (some called it worse that that) after the Washington DC situation became public.

Personally, I think Nick is in the wrong, at this point in time. Everyone has mentioned that no one really has the whole story and it seems that he doesn't really have the whole story either. To blast people on social media without having the entire story doesn't sit well with me, not that it matters.

Is Ruthsatz being the bigger man if he didn't even inform his own family that he had been fired from the job, and opted to embrace the "decided it was time to step away from coaching and get back into the family company" story line instead? Is Ruthsatz being the bigger man by allowing his son Nick to post these rants of incorrect and half-true information because he incorrectly believes that his dad wasn't fired?

As we all are. He is putting down another one for not telling the "full story", yet he is doing the same thing. (considering he even knows half of the story lol)

Maybe, but if his father did not remove himself from HOF Induction and the Diocese claims that he did, someone is lying.

I understand when it comes to matters of the school, but this is the  athletic hall of fame. CovCath AD is being inducted into NewCaths HOF this year. Did Collopy get the Bishops permission for that? That’s what I am asking, is it at all diocesan schools or just CovCath?

I believe the diocese is supposed to be kept in the loop for any special honorees recognized by any of their schools. My assumption would be that the diocese requires that in order to give them better jurisdiction to approve or reject anyone when they feel the need to step in. I would think that is all generally handled through the office of the superintendent of schools.

However, in this case, with the Bishop being the one who directed for Coach Ruthsatz to be fired, I think the Bishop also stepped in after the fact when he found out late in the game that Ruthsatz was being inducted to CCH's hall of fame.

I heard the local steakhouse titan may be involved.  Any truth to that?
