Good to know. Would be interesting to see if KHSAA schools would and could schedule the rebels. I know plenty of coaches and ADs at public schools who would have no problem scheduling private schools if allowed to do so. Many of them are private school grads themselves. If not, playing all the schools twice puts you at 30. Three 5 team divisions in football. Maybe fill the schedule with out-of-state schools. I remember back in the slow-pitch softball rebellion championed by the late, great Dale McMillan. Those teams sure did celebrate their "state" championships. I'm an anarchist at heart, so I would love seeing the chaos.

Is there anything stopping the private schools from withdrawing from the KHSAA and forming their own organization? It would be tough for any private schools outside the triangle, but the teams in those areas would have no problem scheduling games.

It's only natural to see that draw and start thinking about softball and track. GRC is really good and a state tourney favorite.

The Jets need even more help than the Bengals do. I view safety as more of a finishing piece, but maybe other teams want to build from the backend.

I'm just not a believer that he is a 1st round pick. Mediocre arm and accuracy doesn't bode well. He gets happy feet under pressure. At least Will Howard is a bigger guy. There are some really good OTs that could help that line. I'd go that route.

I would prefer Downs, if the defense was solid elsewhere. Unfortunately, it's not, and the best player available needs to be the pick. If Bain is there, he should be the pick over Downs.

Brossart came out very hot scoring 29 in the first quarter. Scott got the lead down to 14 in the 4th but could get no closer. Smith did a great job on Price, basically face-guarding her the entire game.

Both teams have been hit with the flu bug. Hopefully, they can all get healthy before next week. Brossart had Eviston out and 2 others at 50%. Gutsy effort by both teams.

#34 for Bracken appears to be the only mature one on the team. The head-coach sets the tone, and there is obviously no discipline on the team. This occurred at an away game. I saw them play once this year in their building. They had a good crowd there, but the fans were rowdy, and the players seemed to feed off that. It got very chippy in the 2nd half. I assumed it was due to the fans, but now it seems obvious that it's a coach issue. He should be dismissed immediately.

At times, the Camels get no scoring support beyond Davie. The other thing I've noticed is that they are prone to giving up high shooting percentages to their opponents. I'd venture to guess that in most of their losses, their opponents shot well over 40%. I know Brossart shot over 50% that night, including 11 of 21 from beyond the arc. They need to find their supplemental scorers and up the defensive pressure.

To be expected as far as Cooper goes. You don't lose the caliber of coach they had and just keep things rolling. Hopefully, they can rebuild that program.

I agree that with most teams playing an uptempo style it really will only come into play at the end of each quarter. Coaches will need to learn and teach when to push for a 2-to-1 possession advantage at the end of quarters. I assume the KHSAA will mandate some type of minimum clock requirements, so I don't think temporary or cheap versions will be allowed. I've seen cost estimates between $2000 and $10,000. The cost is dependent on the age of the gym and the system already in place. Some of the newer gyms will be more plug-and-play while older gyms will require additional electrical work. No idea about middle school gyms. It will certainly require a dedicated operator. Will this be a paid and trained position? This could be a way for older refs who are physically unable to get up and down the court to remain in the game.

I see Suarez getting a game or two at third each week with the bulk of his time at DH. I'm wondering if this means CES will be dealt. Steer is such a better 1st baseman, I don't see him losing much time. As for Elly, I understand his reluctance to sign here. He's looking at a huge payday from LA or NY down the road. The only way it makes sense for the Reds is if he agreed to a deal that would be below market in 5 years. Absent that, you play it out for 2-3 years and get what you can for him in trade.

Looking at the albeit flawed RPI numbers, Brossart is at .689 and Owensboro Catholic is at .614. I would think the home court advantage (and lack of travel) would equal that out a great deal, but that's where the upset label comes from. For comparison, state champs Covington Holy Cross is .721.

I believe he's just a freshman. They were 1-5 the 6 games before he arrived. They are 4-3 since he started playing.

Brossart was led by Hadley Eviston's 28. Noelle Price led Scott with 36 and was a problem all game.

Scott has lost 7 of their last 10 games, although they have played a tough schedule. The RPI for Brossart is .703, and for Scott is .518. The Lady Stangs should roll, but with this game not meaning a lot (they will play again in the district tournament) is may be closer than expected.

Correct They have it rescheduled as a home game on the 3rd. That said, if the Lady Stangs make a run in the All A, I would think they will have to cancel some games. Isn't there still a games limit?
