Well, most importantly, I hope this finds everyone safe and warm after the intense snowfall that fell throughout the state yesterday.  The bone-chilling cold won't make cleaning off the roads easy, but hopefully we only see minor disruptions this week to what is one of the best schedules of the year.  We have the NKY Game of the Year on Tuesday, Mother Nature willing, as #1 Simon Kenton travels to Union to play #2 Cooper!  That will be amazing and worth the drive out Camp Ernst or Longbranch Roads.

Highlands has a particularly interesting week playing 4 of the other top 10 in one week, which may be the first time that has happened since I've been doing this several years ago.  Then, barring a massive Sunrise Upset in Owensboro on Sunday, we'll see Holy Cross and Brossart battle for the All A Classic State Championship (their first of two scheduled meetings).  So much good basketball this week, let's hope we can safely get it all in!

1.  Simon Kenton (21-1 / 2-0 last week):  at #2 Cooper (Tuesday, the 27th)!!!

2.  Cooper (15-3 / 2-0):  vs #1 Simon Kenton, at TBA at The Louisville Invitational Tournament

3.  Campbell County (13-3 / 2-1):  vs Montgomery County, at Conner, and vs #8 Highlands at NKU

4.  Notre Dame (12-5 / 2-0):  at Conner and at #8 Highlands

5.  Holy Cross (16-2 / 2-0):  at Scott, vs Dixie, and vs LCA in Owensboro in All A Classic semis

6.  Bishop Brossart (20-1 / 3-0):  at Scott, at #9 NewCath, and vs O'Cath in Owensboro in All A Classic semis

7.  Ryle (12-7 / 2-0):  at #8 Highlands and vs Walton-Verona

8.  Highlands (11-5 / 1-2):  vs #7 Ryle, at #10 St. Henry, vs #4 Notre Dame, and vs #3 Campbell Co. at NKU

9.  NewCath (13-6 / 3-0):  vs Ludlow and vs #6 Bishop Brossart

10. St. Henry (11-5 / 0-1):  vs #8 Highlands and vs Great Crossing

======================================

*  Walton-Verona (10-8 / 0-2):  vs Grant County and at #7 Ryle

*  Scott (7-12 / 1-1):  vs #5 Holy Cross and vs #6 Bishop Brossart

*  Dixie (5-12 / 2-1):  vs Lloyd and at #5 Holy Cross

*  Grant County (10-8 / 0-0):  at Walton-Verona and vs Western Hills

*  Lloyd (9-9 / 1-1):  at Dixie, vs Villa Madonna, and vs Henry County

*  Conner (2-15 / 0-2):  vs #4 Notre Dame, vs #3 Campbell County, and at Pendleton County

The girls' Game of the Year, Simon Kenton at Cooper, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 28th.  Don't drive out there tonight, but definitely DO drive out there tomorrow night!

Mark Wehry is scheduled to broadcast this game on 859sportsradio.com

Question? I see where Boone County has cancelled school Wednesday, will that affect the playing of the game?

As of 8:03 AM on the 28th, the game is still on as scheduled at Cooper this evening.  7:30 tip.

As of this morning, SK at Cooper hasn't been rescheduled.

Worth noting, in the short amount of the season that remains, Cooper already has GRC, Campbell County, Holy Cross, and Assumption on the schedule -- 4 of the, arguably, top 10-12 teams in KY, so they certainly have plenty of tests remaining.

Notre Dame at Highlands tonight is the best local game of the evening; Mother Nature has really wreaked havoc on our schedules this week.

I would have to say the Brossart at Scott game would be in contention as a pretty good game as well!!

I will be shocked if that game is competitive, but I guess we shall see.
