ChickenWyngz Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 What a miserable district for Scott to have to play in, but I'm not sure what else you do for a school that size in NKY. They could go the Holmes route and not play in a district, but that is an absolute last resort.

Not great either way. They won 3 District Titles between 2015-2021 in the old alignment. They should be more competitive with the non district schedule this year.

The drop to 4A may be worse. 1

With 3 trips to a regional final and were on play from winning one of those and playing for a trip to the state finals. 2
BBHCEAGLE Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 What will it take to turn this program back around? As stated above, they had some success in the last decade. Is Coach Franklin the answer?

He was moving schools and got a late start last year and the overall talent just wasn't there. I am not sure on the talent, but with a whole off season now and going into the second year you would like to see some major improvement. Now, I am not saying that they will win 8 games, but a good start would be beating Boone and going to the playoffs this season and winning 3-4 out of district games should not be out of reach. 1
BBHCEAGLE Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 I could see 5 wins this year for sure. I think keeping the talent at Scott is key for their improvement. Too many of their star middle school kids are playing at other schools right now. Which is a shame!! They could have one of the more talented teams in NKY. 1

That has been the story of Scott for at least 25 years. Not sure what the remedy is.
BBHCEAGLE Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 I believe Coach Campbell was able to start pulling all those kids when he was the HC. His involvement with the youth and enthusiasm got then to come to Scott. That started the 7 or 8 good years for the program. So it has been done. But finding that formula has evaded the last few coaches. Hence back to the same old cycle unfortunately.

Yes, different guy. The Patrick Burke at Scott is a Conner grad. The head coach at Dixie is a Cov Cath grad. 2
