  1. So based on your statements a mother or father can choose to not support their children, because they believe it is their Right to do what they want? They are choosing to not support or abandon their child because they don't believe others have the right to tell them what to do. Is this ok?
  2. Gillams is a good Sports bar with good Pizza and wings. They also have a hole in the wall Thai restaraunt called Thai Smile that is pretty good and very reasonable. Good Sushi if like Sushi. I agree with the above suggestion of Casa's for Mexican food. Their Margarita specials are pretty good as well! The Sonny's BBQ is also a great choice, you wont' leave hungry!
  3. IF by this you mean... a child or an adult living in (China, Africa.. name the place) and has never been exposed to the teachings of Christ,,. do I believe that person can make it to heaven absolutely. If by this you mean a Jewish or Moslem who has lived a devout and good life yes I do. I have hard time in the belief that God almighty would not reward a truly good person whatever the faith access to heaven just because of when and where he or she was born or what religion they happened to be brought up believing. That is my belief and I was raised Catholic and am still a very active member of the Catholic Church today.
  4. I am not an official, nor did I stay at a Holiday in Express... but I was at the game and the one thing that stood out for fans on both sides were the extremely LATE whistles by one particular ref. In one situation a player drives to the basket shoots, ball bounces twice on the rim, falls off battle for the rebound whistle is blown. Foul on the shot. Similar type calls were done all night. Now did he affect the outcome of the game ... Not in the least.. he was consistently late on all calls for both teams. However, both coaches were more than frustrated by the timing of his whistles, not necessarily the call by how delayed the calls were.
  5. I think they get plenty of coins.... its the paper money thats not so plentiful!
  6. For any good coach the pressure/desire/need to win is greater from within oneself than any outside influences. The current coach is if nothing else a very competitve person by nature. He wants very badly to beat Highlands and works hard every day trying to prepare the team to do so. The admin from Covcath is very happy with the current coach, so he in no way feels pressure there for his job. If he is looking elsewhere for a position it could be money, could be ego could be he doesn't think he can consistently beat Highlands... but is not because of some outside pressure being placed on him to beat Highlands or else. He is a good coach perhaps he is "testing" the waters to see how others view his value as a coach. Most people want to be wanted, even if you don't want what they have in return.
  7. It sure beats St.X, Elder, Moeller and Colerain.
  8. Unless something changes La Salle is slotted to be in D2 in Ohio next year.
  9. I think La Salle is now in Division 2 . They no longer have to beat those teams to win a state title. Their biggest challenge will be from Winton Woods and Anderson. A very manageable task for La Salle.
  10. I agree with one of the earlier post that this happens at many schools. I think what is so ironic about this, is that NewCath seems to handle this situation as well as any. They have 2 state championships out of the last 3 in Football. They have been one of the top 3 or 4 teams in Basketball for the past 5 years, and i believe they have a couple Baseball Regional titles as well. This all for a relatively small school.
  11. Any updates on the candidates or potential interviews?
  12. Congratulations to Mr. Nussbaum. I think he made a great choice. I'm sure he had scholarship opportunities to play at some of the NAIA schools. My guess is that financially EKU is a good choice as well. Assuming he would get partial scholly at an NAIA school, EKU probably nets out about the same out of pocket and he gets to follow his Father's footsteps to Richmond.
  13. DJ will do very well there. Very strong tough young man. I expect DJ to push for PT right away!
  14. Jake's the 4th leader scorer, 2nd in rebounds and 4th in minutes played. A very solid 1st year in D2 basketball. I still think Jake could have played an NKU. He may not have the type of numbers at NKU, but I have to believe he would have been a very solid contributor. Keep up the good work Jake!
  15. If Anthony Munoz played today(at the weight he played at), he would weigh less than any starting offensive lineman in the NFL. (Source Anthony Munoz said so at a banquet)
  16. If my math (off the top of my head) is correct that puts him at approx 18 per game (actually slightly more). If CovCath plays 8 more games this year and 31 games next year and Nick maitains that average he's going to be within range of the record. Obviously a whole lot of if's there but still pretty impressive that he has a chance to get to that level in 3 years. If CovCath wins the region one of those years, you can add a few more games to that list and it becomes a real possibility.
  17. Mustang you might know him as Chip McHugh. He and is brother Kirk both played for the Red Devils and then at NewCath. Todd (Chip) and Kirk both had very successful Football careers at NewCath. Kirk playing Lb and O-line graduating in 1979 along side Billy Vogt. Todd played o-line and d-line along side Mike Kiernan (ND), and went on to play college ball at St. Joseph' college in Indiana. I will say this if his son scored 20 points in a bball game, that would have exceeded Chip (Todd's) entire career scoring grade school thru IBL at NewCath and pick up games since! Congrats to NewCath and to the Mchugh family.
  18. Does anyone think Mike Wolfe from Ryle would be interested? I think he would be a very strong Candidate if he applied.
  19. I think you are correct the last 3 years Eddie Eviston was the defacto OC and called the plays. Prior to Eviston it was Dave Schneider, who I would think is the leading candidate to return to that role for Coach Wagner. Either way Dave isn't going to go to Boone.
  20. My guess is he will be like the vast majority of the other Mt. St. Joes staff and continue to teach in HS, but Coach at MSJ instead of Boone. I believe his son was on the team last year. Sounds like a chance for him to be involved with his son again. An opportunity he probably didn't want to pass on.
  21. It's unfortunate that the fight occurred, but I have seen much worse over the years. Let's not confuse what happened in this game for some type of "uncontrollable" bench clearing brawl. From watching the video, I thought both team's coaches did a good job of keeping Bench players from being a factor. Did some of those kids technically leave the bench area...yes, but both coaches kept them from getting into the scrum. The punishments fit the offense, both teams will learn from it and realize you have to control your emotions or pay the consequences. Sports teach many lessons hopefully all involved learned the lesson and will grow and move on to have success the remainder of the season.
  22. I knew Carl Foster would pick the best man for the Job, and I believe he has done just that. Wag's is the right guy for NewCath. Great Guy from a great family with deep NewCath ties.
  23. I think Jason Moore would be a great choice as well. He is a Covington Native, loves Holmes and has excellent repoir with the kids. I believe he is still a Teacher either at the High School or the Middle School.
  24. How long ago was that? I have never been a big fan of Furman, Trumpy called him the Carnival Barker and that pretty much summarized about 70% of Furman's shtick. On occasion he would have some very good interviews, but it was too few and far between.
