Covington Catholic Vs. Conner (Frosh) cancelled

Featured Replies

The freshmen game between CovCath and Conner at Conner has been cancelled due to weather.

At this time I have no idea when the game will be replayed or if it will be replayed!

Now games are being cancelled because of little rain.

If Boone Co schools would get turf fields they wouldn't have this issue.

I'm pretty sure that lightening had something to do with the game being called.

Funny we got our game in last night just fine, no lightning issues at all.

The game was cancelled over an hour before the 6 pm scheduled kick-off. It turned out to be a nice evening. Think this one was cancelled a little too early and/or Coach Trosper didn't want the field to get torn up this early in the season for a freshman game.

I agree, all the Boone County schools need turf fields. Boone County blew it year ago when Alexander was going to pay the majority of the tow.

Girls and Boys soccer are taking care of that.

Have they done anything to Conners field in recent years? Is it still kinda bad like it used to be years ago, even in good conditions?

Nothing that I have seen. It's a typical grass field that is completely destroyed between the 20's by season's end. I have a feeling it's going to be even worse this year due to the dry conditions. IMO the field did not look as good for the first game as it has over the past few years, which can be attributed to the drought. Playing on it, especially in wet conditions, whether it's football or soccer, is going to make it a dirt lot within the next few weeks. Sad because I know several individuals dedicate alot of time to trying to make it look nice but, unfortunately, it's a losing battle.

Any word on rescheduling this one? It would be a real shame if the kids missed out on a game.

Haven't heard anything yet. Strange week for Conner. Playing a game on Wednesday (that is cancelled) and are scheduled to play Grant County on Saturday. You don't see two football games scheduled within 4 days of each other too often.

That is funny good excuse not to get crushed by CovCath. :D

Why does cov cath play so many freshman games on Wednesday?

BINGO
