CovCath travels South about two and a half miles down the Dixie Hwy to renew their rivalry with Beechwood this Friday night Sept 14, 2012.

 

CovCath is 3-1 with their only lose to Cincinnati La Salle while Beechwood is 1-2 with loses to Simon Kenton and Holmes.

 

Got to think, that maybe this might be the the first time that this game has been played with Beechwood having a losing record going into this neighborhood game where literally players live next door to each other and attend the same Church on Sunday.

 

CovCath will be trying to keep their Ky shutout record in tack and improve their Ky record to a perfect 4-0.

 

Beechwood has had numerous injuries this season and has lost a starter for the season but never ever underestimate the Tigers when they play CovCath.

 

This local rivalry records stands at 17-14 currently in favor of CovCath but you never know in this game who the winner will be until the fat lady sings!

The stands will be packed and parking as always is limited, so arrive early because this is HS football the way it was meant to be played!

 

BTW I can't forget to mention that I am for one looking forward to the great halftime show that the Beechwood band puts on year after year. They indeed are one of the best HS bands around the NKy area!

This game is gonna get ugly. As a Beechwood Alumni I'd love for the Tigers to get a win but I don't think they score a single point in this one.

I see another shutout unless there is a CB that falls down or something. I don't see Beechwood driving the ball down the field with all of their injuries.

The Tigers will need to play turnover free football, get a couple turnovers from CCH and get the injured players that can come back healthy enough to play - and it will still be a challenge. Clearly, it will be a big upset if Beechwood gets the win but the Tigers are getting better every week. It is all about the health of the injured players as to whether the Tigers can stay in this game and pull off the upset.

Does Beechwood bring Nuesbaum back full time this week an risk agravating the injury, or do they keep him on defense and allow him another week to heal before he plays a ton of offense. As a CovCath fan, I hope he is back and at full strength I think it makes this game a better match up. If I were a Beechwood supporter that would be tough call. While you obviously want to play your local rival tough and with all of your weapons available, it could put the ultimate goal of a State Championship at risk. If he is fully recovered, it is a no brainer he should and will be there. If however he is a lets say 85% its an interesting call for Coach Rash.

Covcath rolls in this one. Beechwood is facing injuries and the Colonels are simply too big, fast, and strong for the Tigers this year.

Beechwood is very fast so do not under estimate them. However, even if they were 100% healthy, this year I think CovCath would still win by at least a couple touchdowns. Good luck to both teams and hopefully both teams will avoid any further injurys.

rookie, I hate to say it but this is one where I think the Tigers have little to almost no chance but I will be pulling for them and it is a rival game and I think that might help Bw. I will be suprised if Bw can keep it within 3 scores given their inexperience, youth and injuries. Now go prove me wrong Bw

Beechwood needs to get healthy for district play & post-season.
