Does Beechwood bring Nuesbaum back full time this week an risk agravating the injury, or do they keep him on defense and allow him another week to heal before he plays a ton of offense. As a CovCath fan, I hope he is back and at full strength I think it makes this game a better match up. If I were a Beechwood supporter that would be tough call. While you obviously want to play your local rival tough and with all of your weapons available, it could put the ultimate goal of a State Championship at risk. If he is fully recovered, it is a no brainer he should and will be there. If however he is a lets say 85% its an interesting call for Coach Rash.

Nussbaum will play as much as THE MEDICAL STAFF says he can play. This is not Coach Rash's call. If he is healthy enough to play, he will play.

The real question is.... will the Cov Cath student body scrounge up enough money to hire the bagpipe guy. Colonels by 4-5 TD's.

Given that he was allowed to play Friday would indicate that he is cleared it sounds like

Word is Nussbaum will play on both sides of the ball as well as Justice on Defense. Not sure how may carries he will get at running back but has also been taking snaps at QB. Given the Tigers injuries CCH is heavily favored due to their big wins over Campbell, Dixie, and Boone. The CCH defense is proven by recording 3 shut outs in Nky play. With that being said, the Tigers will go as Nussbaum goes. Hands down the best player on the field and the one kid in NKY I would personally rather watch over anyone in Nky. The kid has guts and runs as hard as any player I have ever seen.

Obviously CCH is the favorite but it is a rival game and I just can't see the game getting that out of hand. I think a fair line would be around 31-14 given Nussbaum plays and is effective. In my opinion it will be closer than most think.

I would like to see Beechwood spread the field out a little more then they have in the previous 3 games. In my opinion, the QB lane, locks on to one receiver and doesn't do a great job of utilizing all of his receivers nor does he spread the field. Once he drops back in the pocket you already know where the ball is going. Hence the numerous interceptions. I believe last game he was 0-4 throwing. There is no way Beechwood can only throw 4 times against CCH and expect to come out with a W. If Nussbaum gets snaps at QB I think it will make things a lot more interesting due to his athleticism, running/throwing ability. Also, the Tigers will not be able to rely on Mitchell Thomas carrying the load at RB. The junior shows promise but I just don't think he will have the near impact he did against holy cross against CCH, CCH defense is just too strong and Thomas just isn't a power runner.

Hopefully, Nussbaum will be heavily involved in the offense both running and throwing given he is good to go, not worth risking further injury this early in the season. (Not to mention the kid's future is extremely bright, D1 athlete) All of the receivers have shown they are capable of catching passes. I recall Lightner with a TD pass against SK and Thomas, Suchanek, Talley with a few TD passes throughout the 3 games. Not sure why Max Shover hasn't been targeted on offense all year, as he led the JV team in TD catches last year? So far he has been the most consistent corner back for the Tigers and has done a nice job punt returning/kick returning. I think he could open up another option in the passing game for the Tigers.

My biggest concern is the Tigers Defense being able to stop the CCH offense. The Tigers corner backs/safety's have done a fairly recent job so far this year however, Bir has shown he is capable of throwing 3-4 TDs a game. The Tigers defense has to be ready for the aerial attack because we all know it's coming.

As a matter of fact, we used to get a Beechwood student/grad to play the bagpipes for the games.

Bagpipes rock!!

I like the tigers in this one.

I wish you were right, but I think it will be more like the Bengals Ravens game last night, and Beechwood being the Bengals.

I'll take that. The Bengals were in it until the middle of the 3rd Qtr :)

If Beechwood gets Nussbaum and Justice on the field for the first time this season on defense, you will see a huge difference on defense. Before the season, I expected Beechwood's defense to be similar to what we have seen out of CCH's - shutdown defense. Then the injuries came. They are not going to be as good as I expected with safety Erdman out for the season, but they will be very good if the rest of the injured players are healthy. I am excited to see a healthy Beechwood defense in action. Hopefully it happens on Friday.

Totally agree. A healthy Justice and Nussbaum would be one of the top Linebacking crews in NKY and can totally change the tone of the game.
