Zack Pangallo Picks Up First Offer
Miller replied to Clyde's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congrats to Zack! Hard for me to believe this is only his first offer. Hopefully more will follow. -
Kevin Gray will right the ship in Ludlowtown. They may still be practicing.

Worth every penny, if you ask me.

I'm happy to see Scott put better teams on their schedule. No disrespect to the previous teams, but this may be the last step to becoming a really solid program. Their facilities are incredible, they have nice things (uniforms, equipment, etc.) and it appears folks have been coming to watch them play. They have good talent and it seems as if they continue to get good players year after year. So is this the last step to getting over the district and playoff hump? Dixie will be down, but how down remains to be seen. NCC and Holmes will be down (see previous sentence), Newport had a really nice team last year, but I don't know what they lost. HC is God awful, and may need God to intervene. Conner was also God awful this year. SK may be the best team in the area next season. I don't know much about the 10th region teams, but Mason always fields a very nice team. I can see Scott winning 6 or 7 games and possibly winning a playoff game or two. Moving forward, I don't know what else folks could ask for if that's the result. Cooper was in the exact same scenario a few years back and went to the state finals and were a fumble away from the game going in either direction. They bumped their schedule after a few years of playing the A & AA schools outside of their district and they catapulted to new levels.

I also have many memories of Donuts. I remember the first time I met him - I was with my mother and when she introduced me I asked him "who names someone Donuts?" I was really confused, but he just laughed and I'm sure my mom was mortified. I never went to a mass or event at St. Bernard in which he wasn't either working the bar or sitting on his porch talking to everyone. Great man. Prayers to his great family!

He can fill it up. I saw him do that as a little kid too. -

A little far in advance to be cancelled, right? -

2015 Jack Kaelin NKY Freshman Invitational Tourney
Miller replied to Lawnboy13's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Dixie/CovCath is at 2:00 and Holmes/NCC is at 3:45 per the tournament director. Freshman semi's at 6:00 & 7:30. Early start due to Dixie's 4:30 varsity game at Scott. -
Personally, the KHSAA has been a leader in making football a safer sport. I'm sure they had their reasons if this is true. Football is violent and at the end of the day it will always be violent, but that doesn't mean we can't have rules to limit injury, death, etc.

Dixie plays Cov Cath in the other. -
Great news for Covington Catholic. Eddie will be a great fit in Park Hills, just give him a chance to install his system. The guy has flat out won at every level he's ever been at - as a player or coach. Kudos to Bob Rowe and the athletic directors for knocking this out of the park.

Good draw for PC. Keaton Belcher is a darn good coach. Nice to see him catch a break today.

Augusta's Camryn Snapp has a torn ACL

So very sad for Camryn. I wish him nothing but the best with his recovery. I'm sure he'll bounce back better than ever. -
Newport's Ethan Snapp Scores His 1000th Career Point
Miller replied to B-Ball-fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congrats, Ethan! Such a great young man who's pretty good at basketball. He's a tremendous worker and this was a matter of time in my opinion. -
Joe Prince is a prince of a man, no pun intended. Super guy!

Compared to other associations around the state, that's pretty solid. Agree?

I think Brian Sandlin is an outstanding official. I'm not trying to pick a fight with the legendary BZ, but having one of most qualified officials in the state back in our region is great for the game. Adding him to upper echelon of the 9th region men and women is good news.
