I'm surprised no one has mentioned the blown call where SK's right fielder dropped a fly ball while diving for it and the umpire called it an out. Southwestern would have tied the game up there, but instead still trailed 2-1. Huge play in the game considering that score ended up being the final. Still a very well played game by both teams.

I read the following article by Richard Skinner in this mornings paper, but I can't understand why a coach would allow a kid to throw 162 pitches in one game, but 250 pitches in three days. Have the times changed and are folks no longer concerned about a kids arm? I know I'm getting older, but this really bothered me when I read it. What say you? These are kids, not professionals, nor are they even college athletes. The thought of intentionally harming their well being, or potentially ending their career, season, etc., is a flat out joke.

I'd say that Newcath lost about as much as anyone in the entire region from last year. Tough to replace 7-8 starters, including two of the best pitchers in the region.
