  1. Heck of an accomplishment for Cole. Since this tally included his Villa points, does Cov Cath acknowledge him as a 1000 point scorer or will he have to wait until he scores 1000 points as a Colonel to be honored? Regardless, it's a tremendous achievement for a sophomore.
  2. Considering the call was "game impacting" is the reason they were suspended. Errors are made in many games in all sports, but when you take points off the board in a game like that someone has to be accountable. Kudos to Julian and his staff.
  3. Once again, great picture, Mr. paNDA. Sounds like a very emotional day in Park Hills. Sorry I missed this.
  4. I had heard last week that Pendleton County would be opening. Any truth?
  5. I think this is a great rule. Good teaching point for a coach to use that timeout and explain to the player why they had to use it.
  6. How long is Racke out? I didn't realize he was injured as bad as he was. Heck of an athlete.
  7. Looks like an easy call to me. Pretty dirty in my opinion. Kickers are the most vulnerable players on the field and taking a free shot at one is cheap.
  8. Congrats to Owensboro on the win. Must've been a fun bus ride home.
  9. I didn't want to say anything due to my pride in this title, but there are 12 games. Should be great football throughout the state Friday!
  10. Moral victories do exist, but this was not one of them. Cov Cath bounced back from a horrid showing against Highlands, Beechwood and Ryle to finish runner-up in the region. Still a good finish for a team that was only good once (Dixie). There will be changes in Park Hills, but will it be total or partial? Lastly, the mafia have been present throughout the season. Do they still have the power to get what they want?
  11. Congrats to the Jags! I've always felt that Randy Borchers was one of the finest coaches in Northern Kentucky. No one does more with less. For a team who was decimated by injuries to fight back and make it to the semi-finals is outstanding. Another road warrior crew in Union! Enjoy it.
  12. Should be a great game to watch. Both teams have a player that can score each time they touch the ball and both teams have good defenses. Best of luck to both teams. Hopefully everyone is healthy and able to play.
  13. All good points, Mustang. I would have liked to see Beechwood in 2A. Just no fun to have them play Dayton, Bellevue, Brossart, Ludlow. They already play Holy Cross and Newcath, so what's the big difference beside the playoff match ups? Newcath has proven that the winner of their district has great odds of playing in the state finals. Just my opinion.
  14. What? I could be wrong, but since Stephen Lickert has been at Campbell County they've won the district once or twice and been runner-up once. I don't know about everyone else, but it was obvious that they would be down this year, plus Dixie was the obvious favorite to win the district. I'm not a Campbell County fan, but I think Lickert is one of the finest coaches in NKY. No way he's on the hot seat.
  15. I was going to say the same thing. Ryle has a very nice defense, as does Campbell County. Ryle has been in several close games recently and finally saw them pay dividends against Cov Cath. I think this will be a great high school football game.
  16. Tough to pick a winner this year. I think Highlands has more speed, but Cov Cath has more size. It should be a really good game, but if I had to guess, the winner will need all four quarters to prevail.
  17. I remember watching Patrick Towles playing basketball in the third grade and knew he was special. Not because he scored every time he touched the ball, but his size and athleticism was incredible compared to other "normal" 9 year olds. So I'll lean toward born.
  18. Isn't there a JV game at Scott this Saturday against Grant County? May want to check your "spread out" schedule. Someone will be watching his quarters.
