  1. This breaks my heart. I had hoped after the last update that he would perceiver, but this is terrible news. Such a great man. Continued prayers for him and his family.
  2. I would think the relationship between Holy Cross and Holmes would negate any chance Kes Murphy had of going there. Plus, his son plays at CovCath, so realistically I think he wouldn't apply.
  3. Mike Woolf is one of the finest men I have ever known and he will work incredibly hard for the kids at Campbell County. Adam Ritter with the walk-off here. Congrats to Coach and his family!
  4. I think this thread has become ignorant of uninformed people. However, I agree this isn't the Holmes of old, and I don't know when it will return to that status. This job will lack the sexy hire of the past, but I do think really good coaches will apply for it. Brad Carr will be on the short list, but who joins him. Have to think Grammer, since he's on staff and has been a head coach.
  5. An incredible man, who was a great coach and administrator. So glad to hear of this news!
  6. Congrats to Ben on this fantastic accomplishment! Classy kid who deserved this honor.
  7. Both teams have had great seasons, but the hail mary is a dark and foreboding monster in the sleepy-town of Taylor Mill. The north remembers. Eagles by 1. I'll hang up and listen.
  8. Congrats to Ryle on the win. This looks like it has heartache written all over it though.
  9. Hard to believe it's been that long, but agreed, incredible run. However, I miss the days when Newport Catholic played in the district with good Newport, Lloyd, Dayton, and Beechwood teams. Obviously not at the same time, but every year you knew they would be great games. Parity needs to return.
  10. I'm a big fan of the Lloyd coaching staff and have been since Coach ERIC Turner took the job. Happy for them.
  11. Love this. No one will ever convince me that kids, who prepare for a week, go into a game with no will to win. No coach, who spends 40+ hours of his life preparing for a team, goes into the game with no will to win. I don't pretend to watch all of their games, nor do I watch them practice, but that fact that grown folk hammer these boys makes me crazy.
  12. So very sad to hear this. My prayers are with Brayden and his entire family.
  13. Per James Weber's Twitter, Scott had 5 total turnovers on the game, all in the first half. They also held Dunaway scoreless in the second half, when he had 15 in the first half. They also out-rebounded a much bigger/physical Mason County team, both offensively and defensively. Could this be the reason Scott won and not the awful officiating? Congrats to Mason County on a fantastic last few weeks of their season. They're very well coached and deserve credit for their turnaround. Congrats to Scott High on the win.
  14. I'm not Mark Stoops, but if that was done to me, we'd be going to court. He can apologize all he wants.
  15. You can say this, but the truth is that their QB needs to pick it up. I'm not attacking him, so please don't take it that way. However, he has got to stop holding the ball, running instead of throwing, throwing too short or selling out receivers. Super, super, super kid, but Lord all mighty buddy - throw that sucker! It's obvious they can run the ball, but if they can throw it, good things will happen in November/early December. (See Beechwood's passing stats against HC last night.)
  16. Should be a really fun game to watch. I'm a big fan of both head coaches and they run first class programs. Where is this game being played?
  17. I'm very sorry to hear of this young man's loss and I pray that peace and normalcy will come back into their life very soon. Randy Borchers is a first class person, so it doesn't surprise me that Cooper would honor this family.
  18. Dan Woolley will find a way to right the ship. Casey Fisk coming back to Scott last season turned out to be a blessing. I'm sure the kids will play as hard as normal and continue working to win games. They're awfully young, but at some point it'll click.
