This game was all Eagles and the stats from the Ohmer boys are correct. Dunaway had 20 or 21 for the Royals and Garrison had 18.

The Royals had 15 turnovers the first half. Scott had 22 points at the end of 1 and 15-18 of them were transition layups off of turnovers. Dunaway and Garrison would penetrate. get stopped about 5 feet from the hoop and had nowhere to throw it.

Scott is a chippy team both physically and verbally and you have to keep your head against them. They appear to take it to the threshold and then back it down. They can take you out of your game quickly and they did that to MC.

This should go without saying. If you leave Jake open he will beat you by himself. He is a great shooter. I assume he can shoot contested, but I couldn't tell tonight because he wasn't contested.

I believe in this game the Royals tried to push things that weren't there instead of making a pass or two to get an uncontested shot. MC had the size to take it to Scott down low, but did not do it.

Scott got up by 20 early in the 2nd quarter and from there they just maintained.

Jaden Lofton got two technicals in the 3rd on a really weird set of events.

MC was shooting a free throw and made the 2nd one. #21 for the Eagles was on the baseline with Loftn in the middle spot. The Scott player hooked his arm in Lofton's and they went to the ground. not really overt, but subtle. If you didn't see the interlocking of the arms, you would have thought Lofton lost his glance and fell on the Scott player.

I believe that is what the ref saw. He started talking to Lofton, but did not the Scott player. The ref started down the court and it appeared Lofton thought he should have said something to the Scott player. also. When he didn't Jaden said something and the ref told him to be quiet or something like that. Lofton kept it up and he t'd him. The players tried to get Lofton away but he kept jawing. Buddy had a player headed to the scorer's table to sub him out. Jaden said something else, got a 2nd team and that was his night.

Lofton was clearly in wrong for not stopping the mouthing. The ref gave him every opportunity to calm down and get settled. However, I think the ref really missed what happened and probably should have talked to both players at the same time. This is the same old, same old where the second one in the event gets caught or is innocent and doesn't handle it properly. I know if the ref didn't see it how could he address it, I get that, but he did miss what started it. Unfortunate and hopefully a learning experience for Lofton.

BY the way these are the things that Scott does that is borderline that is hard to catch. They did this stuff all game.

With that being said they were the much better team and deserved to win. They are going to be a tough out in the 10th.

Does anyone happen to have the name of the ref that called the technicals

First name is Scott, I believe.

Last name is something like Eagle maybe?? American Indian.

So if Jaden Lofton received two T's last night this means with his ejection he will have to sit out Mason's next two games which would be Magoffin Co. today and a district game with Bracken Co. on Tuesday. This would be big if the 39 seeded but since they still blind draw I guess it doesn't mean as much.

By all accounts Jake Ohmer should be at or nearing 2000 career pts. Anyone have any insight into that?

He has to be close, will easily get it by the end of the season.
