Thought I would start a thread instead of posting on the Highlands thread. I'm sure no one cares about CC except for Bird fans. For those who thought that CC would lose in the first round of the playoffs in Florida, well, you were wrong.

 

Columbus (FL) blanks Coral Gables in regional football semifinal. CC advances to the regional finals for the third time in the last four years.

 

Columbus held Gables to 116 total yards including 27 yards rushing and 5 first downs. :scared:

Highlands scored 34 points against this team, great showing for the Birds. :thumb:

First, I'm sure many people outside of Highlands are interested in them, we had an entire thread complementing them, and many said they would follow their progress and cheer for them.

 

Where did anyone say they that CC would lose in the first round?

Miami Central beat them 42-14. Miami Central is 10-1. I am not a big national ranking guy but Max preps has them at 39 in the country and ranked 3rd in Florida. They are very good whatever their ranking says. I believe CC has pitched two shutouts in a row now in their playoffs.

The C. Columbus Explorers (FL) will be playing Friday for a chance to move even farther into the 8A playoffs. CC comes into the game with a 9 game winning streak. They are ranked 19 in the state and 294 nationally. Points for is 432, points against is 152. Both teams are from Miami, FL.

 

Killian Cougars (FL) will come into the game with a winning streak of 14. The Cougars are ranked 27th in the state and 433 nationally. Points for is 396 and points against is 80.

Christopher Columbus has won again beating a previously undefeated Killian by a score of 33-7.

 

They will now play 13-0 Flanagan in the Florida Class 8A semifinals at 7:30 pm on Dec 5
