Lee Teegarden has decided to step down as football coach at Brossart

Stick a fork in the program; it is done.

Ouch. That can't be good for the future of the program....if there is one.

So, here is a question. With the recent "transfer" talk on BGP, can any of the players from BB transfer to say Campbell Cty, NewCath, or any other school? Without penalties of course.

I also believe it's time for Bishop Brossart to close the football program.

That's a very slippery slope there Brother. There is noway the KHSAA would allow such a transfer without meeting one of the stated Transfer rules.

If they shutter the program, those kids should be immediately eligible elsewhere, IMO. Once again, the KHSAA will prolly get this one wrong.

I seriously doubt that anyone who is serious about their football "career" chose to go to Brossart in the first place. No way there will be any requests or even thoughts about transferring if the program is scrapped. JMO.

In general...whats going on at Brossart. Been a rough couple weeks

Long time AD..gone (fired?)

Principal....gone (fired?)

Football coach...gone (resigned)

I am strongly against allowing transfers but this situation might be one that makes me re-think my stance.

 

What about a kid that loves football but chose BB over NCC to get more snaps? Should he be punished for attending a school that failed to maintain the program (if that really happens)?

Anyone in place that could take over? Have they started practice yet? What kind of numbers were they having?

It's a shame that it appears the program is over at least temporarily. There are a few kids on that team that love football and I'm sure are going to be devestated by not being able to play this year. That being said those same kids have Brossart family roots that run deep and I can't see them transfering anywhere.

Jacob Martin started every game last year as a true freshman and would have developed into a lineman that could have excelled in any program in NKY.
