Game is canceled by Simon Kenton. Highlands is scrambling to find a game for Thursday. Dang! Thought maybe SK had HHS's number after the last 5 years of not even getting to close to having their number. Feel bad for both sides....

I said the exact same thing when St. Henry announced they were starting a Football program. Uh oh in Park Hills! It may not show immediately but it's going to run its course. You won't convince me otherwise. If it's not St Henry then they will continue to migrate to Ft Mitchell. Hey, I know of a school in Highland Heights that does well in Football. 🤪 We are even getting New Facilities in the next couple of years. New Stands and all! The opposing Teams will finally get a Regular Sideline...🤣

This Highlands Frosh team this year isn't going to Wow you getting off the Bus but there isn't a harder working group in our Building. Coach Shawn Zitt our Strength trainer and I have been talking about the Body of work this group puts in the Weight Room for Two years now. Everyone gets tired of hearing the ole Cliche "Secret Sauce' Its our strength training at even the 7th grade level that is paying dividends to our program. By the time they're Freshman they're just ready to Fly! Coach Zitt is the reason. You won't find a better trainer at any level. Like ole Cignetti would say "Just google Shawn' He's always winning....Sorry folkes! He is all ours...And many have failed to lure him away. You would be blown away just in NKY who has tried to snatch him up because what he is doing is working. This years group compared to others? They're just different! We use catch phrases in our program like "Stand on the shoulders of the players before you' and that's exactly how Highlands Football attacks each and every day! Hey Boys, don't forget Weights tomorrow morning @ 6:15 am. Go Birds! #SCIT

Another great effort by the Birds tonight. Have to 💯 limit the Turnovers. Jaxston Moeves once again tonight solidifies why he is the Best Frosh Football player in NKY. The defensive play he made at the end of the game was stellar. Tracked the Ryle RB down from behind on a sure TD run and stripped the Football and recovered it for a Touchback. I can see him working his way on the Field a little later in the season on Friday Nights! The kid just gets it. Him playing up last year as an 8th grader catapulted him ahead of everyone else this year on the Freshman level. JMO! Just love me some Jax! Glad he is a Bluebird...

Same play....The discussion about Highlands Dirty play and lack of Class is just someone that can't watch a game and live with the outcome. You "CANNOT" make everyone happy. But hey, we could of recognized our Semi-Finalist Softball Team at Halftime from last year and it would of been Classless...It's Highlands and Covington Catholic! Period....

Yes... Again the "Beholders' perspective is clearly different from anyone else that has a pulse. The Colonels have some work to do. Several times last Night Covington Catholic's Offensive sets were out of sorts. Covering the TE many times(Not called) Multiple receivers in motion at the same time(Some Called) but honestly I am thinking the Officials were being laxed because of the Stature of the Score. Good luck to them....They have a Bunch of Injuries with only having maybe 35 kids on the team to start. Last Night didn't help. Running clocks in the 1st game of the year takes a toll on a 14-15 year old kid being told they "HAVE' to beat Highlands. Does CCH travel to Louisville Trinity this year to play? If so I don't think that is a good idea. For the safety of your Kids I would reconsider those Logistics.

Just getting ready to say...A simple upload of the Video will probably settle the "Beholders' perspective and paint a clearer picture. I may be able to help with that. Is that what they really want? Why not trust the Officials to have the best interest of the Kids while basically calling them insufficient. Covington Catholic even with a Healthy team has some work to do. Highlands A was 6-1 on the Day losing to Ironton A 21-16 in the Finals. Everyone got really good work on the day and everyone got better. Highlands will travel to Greenwood on Thursday.

I coached Jeff in middle School back in the Day....Agree that he is as good as it gets.

Jeff Barth would be at Highlands if he wasn't in the situation he is with Ludlow. They have a rule that doesn't allow District Employees to Coach at other Schools. Jeff has a rising Freshman that will be playing at Highlands next year. Jeff would be instrumental to the Bluebird Family.

One of my most Special moments was yesterday as a Coach when he called me to tell me he Committed. I must say I was pretty emotional. It has been a journey. His Pops would be so very proud of his Boy!

That is correct. Highlands doesn't use the "Dead Lift" The Power Clean movement is taught by Coach Shawn Zitt at the the 7th grade level so by the time they hit their Freshman year they have better form than most College lifters. When Coach Sphire arrived in Ft Thomas only 2 players could Power Clean correctly. Every Athlete at Highlands can Power Clean now. Shawn Zitt is a High Level Trainer that is Employed by the School District and Trains every Athlete in the Building. A total Game Changer for all of our Athletes!

I heard last week the School Board along with the City of Ft Thomas have approved New Lighting at Winkler Park. This is where the Highlands Ladybirds play their Home Softball Games. The Facility is one of the nicest in NKY and will be even nicer with this addition. Many things open up with Lights. Longer JV games and more use of the complex. This is way overdue for the Girls!
