Congrats to coach Roberts and his players.

Heard S.K. left as many as 6-7 runners in scoring position. Marcum once again showed he is their most consistent and best pitcher.

I love Troy Roberts. Coached my daughter in the little pioneer basketball. He is a great guy!!

Shout out to Sophomore Colton Downs! He came up big with a base hit single to center field to score both of SK's runs. That's a lot of pressure for a player with limited varsity experience.

Bust out those "Fear the 'Neer" t-shirts!

Great work. Very realistic shot at advancing past Hazard. Really good draw for Pioneers.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the blown call where SK's right fielder dropped a fly ball while diving for it and the umpire called it an out. Southwestern would have tied the game up there, but instead still trailed 2-1. Huge play in the game considering that score ended up being the final. Still a very well played game by both teams.

It was mentioned in another thread. It was the centerfielder, and it was clearly a blown call. The 2nd base umpire couldn't see the drop because the ball ended up on the ground behind the centerfielder. I'm almost positive the 3rd base umpire saw it, but the crew never did anything to make sure they got the call right. That would have tied the game up, and certainly could have changed the outcome of game.

It was the right fielder and it was the 1st base umpire that made the call but nonetheless you are correct. They didn't get together like they should have. The odd part is the 1st base umpire actually started signaling 'no catch' then signaled 'catch'.

Just wondering where was this crew from, were they a crew our just random umpires assigned together.

I hate to see or hear of any game decided by a blown call if this was in fact a blown call.

I'd figure it would be easier to just get a standard crew from another region that has no affiliations with the teams playing. Would make the most sense to me but then again I have no idea how the KHSAA operates these types of events.
