  1. Don't blame it on the refs. Ads were absolutley the better team.
  2. Don't let facts get in the way June. I watched about 5-6 BW games this year. My impression is the inmates are running the asylum. Worst coached team I've seen. Always make stupid errors on the bases. That's coaching. Instead let's blame it on Midland. The Midland kids on BW were the leaders of that team, seemed to coach more than the coaches. The best team with the best coaches win this game. Period.
  3. By the numbers the right move. Andrew and Jake are a wash, pick your poison. Tough decision, and one that would have been second guessed either way. Scott wins, here comes the Trame Train. It's post season time, time to shine
  4. CCH has Pitzer, Young, and other arms, and Krumps starts a kid that has started JV most of the year in Rd 1 of region? Sorry, he's lost his mind. Time for a change at CCH, way too great of tradition-and I get a lot of that is on Krumps reign-to let this happen. Talked to several CCH parents during game, to say the native are restless is gross understatement.
  5. You are a joke. I don't see you whining during football season when your Tigers are beating Emminence or Bracken County 100-0. You are a no show on baseball threads, and want to show up to post this? It is what it is. No comment on St Henry beating Ryle? Cru doesn't make playoffs in any reasonable scenario other than everyone gets one. Baseball completely different than football, any day brings an upset. Great pitcher, flat, etc. Football is not that way, but heaven forbid your boys have to play Mayfield early. You don't seem to hate that, even though baseball much more level playing field.
  6. 30 tds? In 2 years? Couple kids in this area has nearly that many this year alone. And pay attention to YPC, not yards. There are some really good senior to be backs around here, Dillon being one if them.
  7. Very interesting to say the least. All 3 of the last ones in having bad wins recently. TCU struggling with Kansas. Baylor with Tx Tech.
  8. Been saying all year that eventually money was going to play into this. I can see the committee somehow adjusting the rating to ensure a P12/b10 rose bowl, and the sugar bowl be Bama vs FSU or even TCU. I see no way they leave Ohio State out, but they really screwed the pooch last week by moving TCU to 3. Not sure how you drop them 2 spots after winning by 50+ over a FCS opponent, albeit a bad one. Someone's gonna be mad today
  9. And there is no way BW can run the football on MF. Gotta admit, you guys do give Highlands a run for the arrogance trophy. Doesn't surprise me though, having seen all the 40 something's in their way to small letterman jackets . Guess life doesn't move on way out west. Good call on thhe FNL reference.
  10. LaSalle is as good as any team in the state. They are built just like their bigger peers in the GCL, but benefit from slightly lower enrollment due to location. IMO they have 2rbs and a qb that in combo make up the best backfield I have seen. My Healthy was the only team that could come close to matching up with them, and they got trucked. I was at the champ game, it was man vs boy from opening kick.
  11. New Cath was blown out by every non district team they played in NKY. Congrats to DeSales, but this does not surprise me. This half of 2a was really bad.
  12. Could not agree more. Have a kid that has started since playoffs his freshman year, you can't figure out a signal system? Or run a TE in every other play? They don't use them for anything other than blockers anyhow. WTH are the wrist bands they wear for, looks? It's not like they are running an offense that's difficult, seems the run about two base sets and only change the hole.
  13. RIP Coach. Was great to see all the players past and present come out last night to show their respects, most in some type of Midland gear. Truly a family being part of the organization, Mr. Hayden built some awesome.
  14. I'm not in the what if game, I think the best team won. However, if you are going to play that with the muffed punt and the face mask all, then so can BW fans. What if the qb just throws that ball into the field house on the first possession instead of right to a MF kid? What if the refs get the call right on the goal line, when the BW running back clearly crossed the plane of the goal line (I was standing on the hill and thought so, and I have seen two pics that can confirm)? Lots of things happen in a game and all normally even out. Pointless argument from BW guy that insists best team lost, just as pointless for MF fan to argue it. 7-0, and all those rings should be all the respect you need, yet it still bothers you guys.
  15. Could point to several players. Quentin Marksberry, Chris Hicks and Trent Kincaid from SK. Trent lead the area in int's. The two RBs from Walton. #4 from Cov Cath. The list goes on, which is why I don't understand the double entries. I followed the link and looked at the all district selections. What a joke those are. Cannot begin to explain that criteria. Edit: my bad, I see Trent on there
  16. My only beef is do you really need to have the same kids on both offense and defense? Kids enjoy this recognition, expand it. All it does is give people like us something to talk about. Shouldn't a first team offense recognition be sufficient? Does the same kid need to occupy a D slot as well? I would love to see some numbers of other kids. Is there a Honorable Mention group?
  17. No way. $$$ and facilities, that's a top 10 job. They have recruited very well, just haven't coached them up. Then right guy in that job returns it quick. Not like the bar is set high, learn how to be your two top rivals and you are in championship game every year.
  18. Sure, but isnt it up to coaches to put them in the best position to succeed? They were doing what they were coached to do, just didn't have the ability to execute. Eventually play off and keep them in front. The lost to Mt Healthy because they refused to adjust and continued to play press coverage with no help over the top on a far superior athlete. At then end of first half vs Dixie they were still pressing, two slightly overthrown balls kept them from icing it by half. Same thing vs MF. I've been critical of scheme for two years, too complicated and puts way too much pressure on LB position.
  19. Fair enough. I saw 3 games this year, and the defense got cooked through the air in all 3. Corners playing way to tight, couldn't keep receivers in front of them. That has to fall on a coaching staff somewhere.
  20. My guess is they lost their running back to a concussion. Studer is very good, but he was desperately needed on D as well, and I think the coaches realized after he got hurt that he is not a kid that can carry it 25 times and play D also. Pound for pound toughest kid I know, but eventually being 5'9 q150 ish catches up to you. Stringer had carried it 16 times in a quarter and a half, and once he went out my guess is that changed their plan.
  21. The fact that WB was in a somewhat competitive game with Newport is all I have to go by. Newport lost 2x to New Cath, who while they are in BG this weekend also was pretty much dominated by Beechwood and is a testament to the weak state of 2a. State championship game was Friday night in Ft Mitchell. Barring over confidence, this one is not close.
  22. Perhaps they need to modernize their thinking? A lot of very "experienced" coaches on that sideline. Time for some new blood maybe, ones that understand how to defend the pass?
  23. I asked this question over the summer. Not sure playing football jeopardizes their baseball futures. There are high school football players all over rosters of baseball teams. What they miss is the fall tour of Florida, scouts paradise, but two of them don't need it, and I think Slusher will be wrapped up by then, though from what I have seen he could play safety at a high level in college. I do worry about Ethan, seems he was carrying the ball a lot at the end of the year, really too much. That's a lot of hits on the shoulders and legs. That said, when you watch him he sure looks like he loves it. You always hear rumors that kids aren't playing, but I think coming up short this year will bring them all back for one more run. The three Midland kids will start throwing and hitting on a regular basis this week, they are three of the hardest working kids I've seen, and IMO the break football provides them is very good for them.
