Interesting move by Mason Co. As with 2 outs in the 7th, runners on the corners they walk Trane to get to Ohmer.... Both are guys you don't want to face in the situation but the walk allowed a runner to freely advance to second and the base hit then scores 2 runs.

I don't call it overthinking. I call it not thinking at all!

Was wondering when someone would say something about that move. IMO it was a terrible move, no way you walk anybody on that team to get to arguably one of the best hitters in the region. You cannot put the bases loaded and risk a walk or a hit batter which the pitcher hit a batter already in that inning and walked a batter in the inning before. Overall I think it was a terrible move.

What had Trame done prior to the decision to walk him?

I was at the game today, I'm pretty sure he struck out twice before the intentional walk, I know he did not have a hit on the day.

Disagree. Why move another runner into scoring position in order to pitch to the best player ?

Not with two outs. Ohmer is Scott's best hitter and the only home run power on that team. I'd rather not face him. You get Trame out, inning over, and Ohmer is leading off the next inning if you don't score in your half of the inning. If Trame gets a hit, you give up a run, but then you can walk Ohmer, and take the bat out of his hand, and maybe get out of the inning with just one run.

Was this the worst move of the game???? How about the Royals pulling Williams who had completely dominated the Eagles out after 73 pitches? The reason Trame and Ohmer were o-fer was due to Williams dominance on the bump. Playing for Thursday was the dumbest move in the game from my perspective.

You can't play Thursday if you don't win Monday. Bad decision on Coach's part IMO.
