Final per Rick Broering on Twitter.

Birds win back to back Regional Titles. JR Doty was outstanding on the bump for the win. SR Fieger with the loss for Beechwood.

Good pitching and defense always wins out over ballyhooed offense and this game was a good example of that.

Birds pitching allowed 1 run in 3 regional games and only 1 run in 5 post season games.

Congrats to JB and the Birds.

Can a mod fix the header please.

Congrats Birds.

JB's done an outstanding job since he took over as coach. Congrats coach!

Thanks for the updates FbcoachDYF

After getting beat up in early May by Beechwood Doty throws a gem in the Regional final.

Congrats Highlands!!

I guess the prognosticators had this one wrong.

Good luck to Beechwood's ballyhooed senior class. Brayden Combs is such a classy kid. Don't know the others well but know Bankemper and Slusher are top notch kids too. Will enjoy watching Combs play for UK.

0.00 ERA for the region tourney.

Good job, Birds!!!!

Congrats to Coach B and the boys on a job well done, but business is not finished. I took a lot of heat on this site a few years ago when last years seniors and this years seniors were in late grade school/early junior high. I said that these were two strong baseball classes back to back and the train just keeps on rolling. Quite a few underclassmen have also stepped up their games over the year and thus you have a team that can compete with anyone on any given night.

Someone told me this group of Seniors have 4 Region Championships to their name. As freshman, sophomores on JV, last years Varsity as reserves/players, and now this year. Pretty impressive group. Congrats to all these young men and to the coaches. Adding baseball to the dominance of sports at Highlands!

I told everyone at the beginning of the year that Highlands had the best pitching in the region. Good pitching beats good hitting every day of the year. If the Birds can manufacture some runs they could be a tough out at state. If JB isn't the best coach in the 9th region I'd like to know who is better..

As a Bluebird grad I'm thrilled for the Birds...but as a Beechwood father..... Bobby needs to go... geez! It doesn't get more talented as this team... They deserve better! Imo!

Congrats to my Birds! Back to back is quite impressive...
