Unbeaten Williamsburg meets annual State 1A powerhouse Mayfield for the 2014 1A State Championship.

I don't have a "dog in the fight" so to speak so I thought I would start the thread.

 

Who is our KY. 1A State Champion when this one is over ?

I'm picking the upset? Williamsburg by 6.

I will say that Mayfield wins fairly easily. Although possibly a little closer than last season's title game between these two I will still say .......

Cardinals take the hardware again against Wburg! Maybe the score won't be as bad as last year but we win. We are playing really good football right now and I think we will be hard to beat.

After seeing both play this season, I think it will be a good game. Both teams definitely have speed, but I think Mayfield has more. I'll take the Cardinals by ten.

After what happened last year, it is hard to pick against Mayfield. Williamsburg will need to win the turnover battle to have a chance. If the turnovers are even, I say Mayfield wins 42-21.

I don't see Williamsbugh being better than Beechwood or any of the better teams we played this season. If Williamsburg can't control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and Mayfield is hitting on all cylinders......42-7 Cards

Better game than last year but Mayfield wins easily.

I fully expect this time around that Will and MF have a dogfight. I hope my dog is the bigger bad-er dog

 

Oh and we appear to be fully healthy, a major plus!

I expect Williamsburg to play better this year.i also see some are not 200% confident like a few years ago when they replayed Hazard and Hazard got the best of them. No one give Hazard a chance as the poll was 53-2 in votes who would win that game.. I'm not saying this game could go in the same way but do not underestimate. Mayfield had injuries coming into that game but seem to healthy as a horse this time around..

I don't know if this means anything, but this will be the 18th rematch in state finals history. Only five times has a team lost the previous year and then come back to win the following year, but it has happened twice recently.
