This is my son's first year playing HS ball, here in NKY. I've been looking for a place to get information about other school teams. Though there's a few sites that update Varsity results / standings, it's not easy to find good information about the Freshmen and JV teams. Fortunately, I stumbled across this site a couple weeks ago.....Nice forum with a lot of great info!

 

Was talking with a parent at a recent game and he was wondering who plays who, and when, in the Regional Tournament. Pulled out my "smart" phone, went to my BGP bookmark and voila, all the information about the Freshman and JV tournaments were posted. Made for a nice discussion.

 

BTW, though I appreciate all the information on the tournaments, I'm a visual guy. So I decided to make a bracket and put it up on a website. Done this many times with my son's summer team's website in the past, so it was easy. Take a look HERE. I plan to keep it updated as I get info on game results. Let me know if there's any mistakes, or if something has changed.

Freshman tournament results: Conner 4 Cooper 3

If so, I’m curious to know how the blind draw works. Do they draw names from a hat, or do something similar? Have they ever seeded the freshmen or JV teams?

 

It just seems like the Conner and Cooper freshmen teams got a tough draw. I believe them to be two of the better teams in NKY and they had to “play in” to the bracket, with the winner playing Ryle the following day.

Yes it is East and West and I believe it is a double blind draw.... ie. draw a number to see who draws a number first .... then fill in bracket based on that number.

CovCath beat Beechwood 9-3.

Brossart beat Holy Cross 4-2.

NewCath beat Campbell County 10-6. This info was passed on to me. Hopefully it's correct.

SK beat St.Henry 3 times this year like 7-2,5-2, and 5-3. So, I'd say it was an upset.

Good game tonight. Maley pitched well for St.Henry. #20 (big lefty) pitched well for SK.

Stevens had a nice throw from left to the plate in the last inning, getting a runner trying to score from 3rd for the 2nd out. Last out came on a base running error on SK. Runner on 2nd with 2 outs, ball hit deep in hole that ss made a diving stop, and runner moving on pitch rounded 3rd and was out in a pickle between home and third.

Some surprising results; Conner getting beat by 15, Boone getting shutout and the already mentioned SK/St.Henry result.
