From that angle it looks like, while he twisted, he went pretty up pretty vertical, if the rule is that you don't have to establish a position on the floor. In this situation, does the shooter get about 3 ft of leeway to lean into a defender?

Closer than I thought it was watching in real time.

Looks like a foul to me. I thought the NBA is the only place where they took the shooter's ability to jump into the defender to draw a foul away from the shooter.

Could be wrong about that. Still looks like a foul to me. Smart play by the shooter.

Travel on Ruthsatz before contact?

No. Left foot was pivot foot.

I am not a big fan, but that is almost always called on the defender from what I have observed.

Ruthsatz = John Stockton. I'd take him on my team, very crafty.

Didn't see the travel.

Offensive player lowered his shoulder and that was a poor shot attempt. Bad call IMO.

Looks like Pangallo's feet are both inside the arc when he jumps up, but come down outside the arc when he lands. This makes it seem like he is going towards the shooter. Also, I think based on him turning his body as he did makes it easier for the official to call defensive foul. See it all the time on block/charge where the defensive player turns his body sideways.

He did lower the shoulder. Was a bad shot attempt. Reggie Miller-esque. Kobe-esque.

Just one of the terrible calls in this game. He already used his pivot and then picks up both feet to dive into the defender. If not travel then offensive player control foul. Outside of this region he will not get this call. He will also have trouble with carrying the ball the way he dribbles.

Should've been a no call in my opinion.
