Pulaski County 41 Highlands 31

Couple of things: 1. I told y'a so...I maintained all last year and thoughout this year that Highlands atrocious defense had been masked by a great offense...and that this Highlands offense was far from great. Hughlands literally cannot play D against teams with a pulse. 2. A lot of people said Highlands got better as the season went along? Do you really feel that way or did they just start playing really bad teams? -
Highlands path to the Final Four may be the worst in history...they have beaten a: 3-7 team in the 1st round 3-8 team in the 2nd round and a 5-7 team in the 3rd round The mighty and "rolling" Blue Birds have wins this season against teams with the following records: 1-10, 3-8 (twice), 5-7 (twice), 4-7, 0-11, and 3-8...they have yet to beat a team with even a winning record...I have a hard time considering a team with that resume a "favorite" against the defending state champ. Pulaski's playoff run does leave a bit to be desired as well...they have beaten a: 4-7 team in the 1st round 3-8 team in the 2nd round and (cue applause) an 11-2 team in the 3rd round...the only win for either team against a team with a winning record in the playoffs so far.

Two incorrect statements that I have seen on here... 1. The idea that someone is going to run the ball on SW. That's just silly, and I can say with total honesty, I don't think ANYONE can run the ball on SW and score more than 21. 2. The idea that SW can throw the ball. They can't. They know they can't. And when they've tried, it's been ugly. Per the KHSAA, their starting QB (so you can't blame the stats on backups in cleanup time) is averaging less that 100 yards a game passing and has a TD to INT ration of 14:9. That said, I'll take SW in this one at home 21-3.

I'll be happy when Johnson Central goes down so we can start the "How great Johnson Central will be in 2016" thread to match the previous 7 years worth of "How great Johnson Central will be in..." threads. They got beat 41-0 by a 3A school. They're not in the same stratosphere as South Warren. The winner of the John Hardin v. South game will be your champion.

If Johnson Central can't pass they have ZERO chance against SW...trying to run the ball on SW is like trying to knock a brick wall down with a tennis ball. ...now throwing against them, that's a different story.

McCracken was surprisingly small up front. Great looking skill kids, but really lacking size in their defensive front. -

Highlands argument that they're in the same league as Pulaski this year is as comical as if Pulaski had tried to make the argument that they were in Highlands' league 5-7 years ago. There is no comparison between the two 2015 squads. Pulaski is light years ahead of Highlands this year. Face it, Highlands is so bad on defense, that anybody with an Offense is going to likely beat them. Highlands is one of the state's two best programs, but this 2015 version is like the drunken, unemployed distant cousin of the Highlands family legacy. -

The two BG fumbles were: A squib kick that hit a JV KOR man late in the game. A JV running back late in the game. I think it's been imparted that ball security is a priority. -
Courier-Journal Litkenhous Ratings 9-28

Pulaski would beat Cov. Cath by 21. I'm not sure that the QB and the WR Johnson by themselves vs. Cov. Cath's 11 defenders wouldn't be a toss up. The Lit is just silly sometimes. -
Catching BG on a night when they're clicking can be quite the traumatic experience. Save maybe Trinity, I don't think there's a team in KY that can withstand the Purples when they're on. I would measure my team more by their performances against Boyle and SW.

Male crushed T...This T team would be 0'fer against some of their non-district schedules of the past. Do you really want to spend a season getting running clocked the whole time and then maybe win it all or would you rather have what you have right now which is getting beat beat once or maybe twice and having a chance to win it all? My point being, I really don't think T's non-district schedule has much to do with their ability to win it all in the end.

BG gave up 14 to the #1 team in 5A last week and gave up a late 4th Quarter 7 tonight to a team with excellent skill players and the defense "needs to fix things and be quick about it"? -
Highlands will still be tough in the post season but I have a hard time seeing them staying in a game with Pulaski.

I know a few youth league coaches that understand how to manage the clock better than the Giants did last night at the end of the game. Sheesh. After watching Hard Knocks, I'm curious as to if Bill O'Brian actually knows anything about being a Head Coach. He was embarrassing. I'd say there are 20 coaches in KY that would be just fine. Coaching is coaching.

Quick off the subject question...am I the only one who wonders if the screen printer for Cov. Cath.'s uniforms was a little off on the shoulder numbers? They all look like they're shifted way to the front of the shoulder and jersey? -

As far as the play clocks go, when you have five seconds left to run the play, the back judge will raise his hand as an indicator to both the QB and coach. That late in the 4th, with 3 timeouts left, either the coach or the QB has to burn one at that point. That's pretty basic stuff that doesn't need a play clock. JMO.
