Central Hardin

Featured Replies

Central Hardin has lost to 3A #1 Boyle County, 4A #1 South Warren, 5A #1 Bowling Green.

Pros and cons for for brutal schedule. Injuries vs experience for playoffs. Not sure we know more about Central than when the season started. Inexperienced QB, not much of a passing game. Defense that can be dominating, now seems to be average, at best. Running game is strong when fully healthy. Real weakness all season has been special teams. With all that being said, should win the last 4 games and hopefully rest some players for the playoff run.

Central has accumulated injuries through this early season schedule.

Congrats to Bowling Green on a dominating game in all areas, Central started flat and never recovered.

Catching BG on a night when they're clicking can be quite the traumatic experience. Save maybe Trinity, I don't think there's a team in KY that can withstand the Purples when they're on. I would measure my team more by their performances against Boyle and SW.

Agreed. CH will be fine and will win their district and probably will come out of the Region.

Defense is what CH hangs hat on. Offense has to stay on field longer than against BG. Very impressed with BG btw! Keep saying inexperienced QB, but Iler has been a QB as Freshman and JV and been in system. Inexperienced as game action in varsity yes. Hope to see the playbook opened a little more in upcoming games. Just my thoughts too!

Slim, I would agree with this. As Raider said, you just caught BG at the worst time. I like your idea of opening up the playbook. I like the Barbour RB. Would like to see a couple easy swing passes out wide to give him more of a chance in space. This would give the QB confidence also. Like the misdirection plays you used, but you never threw out of those that I can remember. Mix it up a bit. I think CH tried some of this a little, but the conditions just didn't allow for it.

When Perry left he had 3 good qb's I was impressed with in the program. Was Iler there under Perry any?

They'll have to win at McCracken County to win the region. I think that would be a really good game.

They are allowing 24 points per game and have allowed more points than they have scored.

Might want to repair that hat rack.

Was there as a freshman. He is a good kid too. Wants to do what helps the program. Think with a few more pages of playbook opened he could really lead this team down the stretch.

Inflated by the 42 they allowed by BG and the 24 scored by SW was mainly due to special teams...only allowed 1 offensive TD to SW...thanks for playing

He looked great in a freshman win over BG in the old offense.

If we are deleting numbers then take away the 13 given up to a bad Bullitt East that helps your average and even if you take away that 42 to Bowling Green you still are giving up 22 a game.

No parting gift for you.

So special teams defense doesn't count? This doesn't make Central Hardin a bad team. They have the best three losses of anyone in the state and all three are ranked #1 in their respective class. But bottom line, they've been handled by two opponents.

You have to look at a football game in 3 parts...Offense ,Defense and Special teams...Not great on offense and special teams needs much work but defense has been good..got to keep offense on field longer can't have D stay on field too much...missing a few players hurts too....still 3-3 with one of toughest schedules around....tell me another team with this kind of schedule in this area (leave out trinity/st x--that's another "Springer Show")....play tough teams to show where you need improvements and not just play cupcakes!
