Just over 13 miles separate these two schools, but this will be the first meeting between what could be considered natural rivals. Coming into the year, it was thought if any team was a threat to South Warren in the district, it was the Wildcats. Those thoughts are a distant memory because of the unbelievable start for the Spartans. Franklin-Simpson averages around 40 yards passing per game, leaning heavily on the rushing attack. Which, unless you've been living under a rock, South Warren is kinda good at stopping. Thoughts?

North Hardin threw for over 1,000 yards/11 TD's in 4 games & South Warren also shut that down holding them to under 100 yards on the night.

They are kinda good at stopping all of it to be completely accurate.

A lot depends on health of team for offense but probably another shut out by D

Franklin is too run- heavy! Only way to stay in game against South is to be balanced on offense and mix it up. Not what Franklin does. South big if Litton plays.

South very big. FS does not have the air attack needed to beat them.

See my original post about North Hardin who had over 1,000 yards and 11 TD's through the air, who I failed to also mention had over 700 on the ground and 9 other TD's through 4 games.

I get that there are some kind of fictional brownie points that seem to come along with pointing out a team has too much of a run dominated game on this site (because you very seldom, if ever hear about teams who can't run it a lick), but it doesn't matter. South Warren is just that good on D. Period.

I've seen South play. I never said at any time they weren't good on D. I personally don't think 1-4 North Hardin is very good. Their lone win is against 0-5 Mercer County. My point was and is if you want to have a chance against South you better have a balanced offense and mix it up TO HAVE A CHANCE

Never said, that you said "they weren't very good on D."

I pointed out that the held a team who had thrown for over 1K through 4 to under 100 passing and 0 points. Then pointed out that the same team also had over 700 yards on the ground & almost as many TD's.

Offensively, North Hardin has and will cause issues for people, I don't care what their record is. South Warren hasn't and will not play a more "balanced" team (assuming your definition of "balance" is the all to overused 50/50 run-pass that most associate it with, the rest of the year) & they were never in the game.

Which brings me back to my original point that it doesn't really matter what you do against South Warren, their D is just that good.

No one is saying that South Warren isn't solid in all defensive facets, but you're kidding yourself if you pretend it isn't the ferocious run defense that has made them a household name. It has been acknowledged for years that if you are going to beat South Warren, there's a better than average chance you'd better be able to throw it.

As far as the part about never hearing about teams that can't run, I can't lay hands on a thread, but there's a good chance it's been mentioned on here before if a team was too pass happy and couldn't control the line of scrimmage at all. But the reality is now and may never stop being that teams in this state tend to be much more likely to rely on the run than the pass. And for three seasons now, to try to beat South Warren on the ground has been to take your life into your hands.

North Hardin doesn't have a bad loss on their schedule though. They are better than you are giving them credit for.

I guess you'll have to take your North Hardin toys and go play by yourself because as much as you want to puff them up they are still 1-4 with their only win against winless Mercer County.

Well sure their run defense is what has made them a house hold name as it does most all contenders, state finalists and state champions. That goes without saying.

Mercer County will win their district. Their schedule has been brutal also.

Too bad Chuck is at Boyle and Brandon is at South Warren. Josey would beat them.

North Hardin best offense SW has faced very athletic play very fast QB has nice arm can run receivers tall and good but QB Was under pressure all nite with three rushers not very good on defensive side though
