North Hardin best offense SW has faced very athletic play very fast QB has nice arm can run receivers tall and good but QB Was under pressure all nite with three rushers not very good on defensive side though

Well sure their run defense is what has made them a house hold name as it does most all contenders, state finalists and state champions. That goes without saying.

 

All I was saying was that the most dominating aspect of the South Warren defense is what Franklin-Simpson is going to run headlong into without a second dimension to back it up. I think you manufactured a slight that wasn't there.

Not only can they win their district, but it's not unrealistic to think they can't play for a region championship, either. None of those would shock me in the least.

North Hardin doesn't have a bad loss on their schedule though. They are better than you are giving them credit for.

I haven't seen South play but having watched Chuck's teams for years I have seen South play. A balanced offense is needed but you have to be an above average passing team in order to beat them. You ain't gonna run on them but if your passing attack can keep them on their heels then you'll be able to sneak some runs in on them from time to time. If they don't have to respect your passing attack then South will beat you down.

North Hardin is not a good team. Central Hardin lost their main back after 4 carries against SW, so it's somewhat tough to gauge just how good their team is. Although they did a good job stopping CH without their main RB.

And South Warren lost 5 of their main players during that game... Still won convincingly!

Where South is good is at stopping the run. Keeping the opposing team pinned deep in their own end of the field and getting turnovers or great punt returns giving south a short field to work with. That's a fact. The 3 teams that have beaten South over the past 3 years stretch the field and make South move the ball longer than 40 yards on a drive. IE Daviess County, Paducah Tilghman and Louisville Central. All 3 of those teams kept South pinned on South's side of the field when they played.

 

If you are going to beat South you have to come at them with a balanced attack of Passing and running. You have to make the linebackers respect the pass. If you don't your night is going to be long trying to run on them.

 

With this said I don't think Franklin Simpson can run on them and South should win. By how much depends on the injuries and who plays. Against North Hardin South was more one dimensional. I only remember 4 passing attempts by South in the game. If Litton doesn't play this week look for it to be more like North Hardin if Litton play's then I believe it will be South Big.

Anyone have any links to video of SW this season? I would have no idea where to look, but I'm interested in seeing them play.

South Warren has one of the best defenses I have seen. They completely took over the game against North Hardin.
