Pikeville's running backs were very good; I was very impressed with Pugh. Very tough loss for Beechwood, I thought they would win, but guess it wasn't meant to be. Congratulations to the Panthers.

Remember seeing threads all year saying the East didn't matter because Beechwood, but congrats to Beechwood as well for making it there! Listened to this one and it sounded really good. Pugh must be a monster.

Key play was the last play of the 3rd Quarter.

After Beechwood came back from 14-0 1st Quarter deficit, the Tigers firmly held all the momentum leading 21-14. Pikeville hit a short pass on 3rd and 6 to Blake Charles who rumbled 67 yards for the TD to tie the game heading into the 4th.

From there it was all Panthers. Pikeville went to the power game under Center and just pounded the Tigers the rest of the way. Once the lead grew and the Panthers had a key stop to turn it over on downs, Beechwood sold out to stop the run and Pugh and Charles made them pay with long runs to ice it.
