PurplePride92
It's been a perfect storm to organize this. Probably will never happen again in our lifetimes. Lockout, Cal coaching the Dominican team, enough UK players to field a team, etc. Also surprised this hasn't grabbed more national media attention. Give it time. Just became official last night around 10:30 when Cal tweeted it out even though KSR scooped it and posted it earlier.
Big Slick
I am going to do my best to be there, it should be cool. Only thing that would hurt would be for NBA to come to some type of agreement and that won't happen.

Wireman
Here are some other things to consider... - will UK have some recruits on campus for this game? - all former Kentucky players have been invited to come back as guests - that list of Dominicans I posted, will be cut down to 12 for the final roster - Orlando Antigua and Rod Strickland are assistant coaches for the DR
Big Slick
I heard this isn't going to be on TV correct? I heard UK network not allowed to yet and they are working on some other options.
Lucky Charms
It would be really cool if Enes Kanter got an invite to play in this. I'd pay to see him play at Rupp!

Enes is currently back in Turkey preparing for EuroBasket 2011. You'll get to see him play live on FIBA.com here in a few days.
Randy Parker
Per KSR, the NCAA has stepped in (I'll pause while I wait for you to overcome the shock). Evidently, this little event needed some of the NCAA's touching up, so.... * Joe B. Hall is not permitted to coach the UK Legends team. * The UK Legends team is not permitted to be called UK Legends. * There can be no radio or television coverage of the event. * UK cannot invite former players to be honored during the game. So let me get this straight...UK is not permitted an event featuring former coaches & players, but Texas is permitted to have the Longhorn Network (with ESPN), where potential players are often featured. Am I missing something here?

Michael Corleone
Joe Hall should give the NCAA the finger and coach. What a lame organization.

PurplePride92
What is the reasoning behind Joe B. Hall not being allowed to coach? What is the reasoning behind the other stuff? The NCAA is pretty stupid.
Randy Parker
What is the reasoning behind Joe B. Hall not being allowed to coach? What is the reasoning behind the other stuff? The NCAA is pretty stupid. The only thing that doesn't really bother me is the team not being able to be called "UK Legends." That's a stupid ruling, but it doesn't bother me. The other three things are nothing short of ridiculous and petty on the part of the NCAA.
