"Lamar Odom is a better basketball player. Pau Gasol is a better basketball player. Andrew Bynum is a better basketball players. Contrast Derek Fisher today compared to his years in Utah. Obviously, he is better. Odom just scored 19 points, 19 rebounds against one of the two most athletic power forwards in the NBA. I am a little lost. Amazingly, MJ, who is one of the worst teammates in NBA history made people better? Meanwhile, players like Gasol who were lucky to reach the playoffs are perennial winners with Kobe, but Bryant is somehow holding them back. Interesting."

"Did Kobe make his teammates better in the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns basketball game last night? 13 assists? Are you really going to continue to question this guy? Artest big numbers...Odom big numbers (as his opponents call him lucky)...Gasol with Wilt-like/Shaq-like numbers. It appears to me that these players are better. Perhaps, it is simply irony that these guys are playing at such a high level and their teammates happens to be Kobe Bryant. I am telling you guys, if you really evaluate it...... Kobe Bryant is right there in every manner that Michael Jordan was. The difference is how Kobe is such a complete offensive player. The shooting is not even close. Jordan shot under 20% from 3 pt range in multiple seasons. Kobe is the most complete shooting guard ever. It is not challenging to see."

Some links about his 81 point game. If I am not mistaken he had 2 dunks and 2 layups in this game for a total of 8 points at the rim. All of the rest were jumpers and free throws.

I don't even consider Kobe the greatest Laker ever. Definitely behind Magic and Kareem. I may even put Jerry West ahead of him. As for the poll question I will give the slightest of edges to Jordan.

Really?

Bryant holds or shares numerous Lakers franchise records:

* Games scoring 50 points or more, season: 10 (2006–07)

* Games scoring 40 points or more, career: 104 (as of March 1, 2010)

* Games scoring 40 points or more, season: 27 (2005–06)

I do not like Kobe at all but I think he may be the greatest outside shooting threat ever in the NBA.

Really? I will say that he is the best outside thread who can also get his shot whenever he wants but best outside shooting threat? There are so many players who shoot better from outside than Kobe, including someone he's playing against in these Finals.

It's Jordan but Kobe can catch him if he gets 6 or 7 IMO.

I still disagree with that. Kobe could have six titles, but Jordan still consistently put up better numbers. And quite frankly, Jordan was simply more fun to watch. That doesn't make him better, but he was.

At the end of the day it is an arguement that will never be decided, just like every other time you aregue players who played in different eras.
