Well with the loss to Clemson yesterday the Cats finished 2023 at 7-6. Going into the 2024 season it should one of the most exciting for the SEC and college football in a number of years. The schedule for 2024 is a little different and I think a bit tougher than this seasons schedule. While they do not have to play Alabama next season, they pickup Texas on the road and add Ole Miss. instead of Miss. State. I think that Ole Miss. will be ranked in the top 5 preseason with what they have returning. They also have Auburn instead of Missouri. Their 3 non-conference games other than the annual Louisville game is against Southern Mississippi (3-9) from the Sun Belt, Ohio (10-3) from the MAC, and Murray State (2-9) from the MVC (FCS).

8/31-    Southern Miss.
  9/7-    South Carolina
  9/14-  Georgia
  9/21-  Ohio
  9/28-  at Ole Miss.
  10/5-   BYE
  10/12- Vanderbilt
  10/19- at Florida
  10/26- Auburn
  11/2-   at Tennessee
  11/9-   BYE
  11/16- Murray State
  11/23- at Texas
 11/30- Louisville

*   Kentucky has 8 home games.
** Kentucky has first SEC game is in week 2 vs. South Carolina.

The Cats have a good incoming class and has some good players coming in through the portal. It will be interesting to see what the 2024 seasons brings for the Cats. What does everyone else think about the Cats?  I have also posted a poll with what you see the Cats regular season record for next year.

  • Our schedule was so, so tough, lol.

  • I'm most excited about Vandagriff at QB, I found Leary to be over hyped and extremely frustrating much of the year.

Louisville will be better.

Ole Miss (if Kiffen is still there and not at Bama) will be tough again.

At some point Florida's talent has to figure it out, you can't count on wins in the Swamp.

Auburn should be better with another year with coach, UK gets a break playing it in Lexington. 50/50 game.

Tennessee, could be down, but they always beat us so it doesn't matter.

The big lights of Austin will be too much for the Cats on their first trip to Texas.

Leary was terrible.

I think 6-6.  I wouldn't be surprised at 5-7.  Ceiling is 7-5.

Well with the Super Bowl and NFL now over and the basketball Cats currently struggling how about we look towards the 2024 Kentucky Wildcat football team and season.

They will again be starting a new QB from the transfer portal in Brock Vandagriff (I hope it works better than last year's) and a new offensive coordinator for the 4th straight season by the way (looks to be Bush Hamdan who was the OC and QB coach at Boise State last season.

The question I guess will the Cats season be like the last few and win your games vs. teams from the MAC and other similar conferences and the Vandy and sometimes South Carolina's of the SEC or could this be the year they can defeat some of the better teams in the SEC?  Go Cats!!

Aba Selm is #53 for UK. He might get a shot at center.

Seen a couple of videos of UK practicing Aba Selm was lining up at left guard and looking good!

Spring game is going to be more of a practice. They have 8 defensive linemen out.

Defensive lineman Jay’viar Suggs from Grand Valley State at the Division II level has heard from many schools, but the Cats are making a late push.

The 6-foot-3 lineman has received offers from 37 schools, but Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Suggs is making a trip to Lexington for an official visit.

According to Warchat.com, Suggs holds additional scholarship offers from Florida State, Miami, Louisville, Wisconsin, TCU, and Iowa, among others.

SEC will be eating their own this season for sure.

Florida's schedule is ridiculous.
